Re: List your favorite hop
If I had to pick just one, I'm going with Simcoe.

Re: Rougue Dead Guy Ale
Side note: I found a bottle of the REAL stuff in my mini fridge tonight and I decided to have it with dinner. Had to pour it out
Super diacytel-bomb. I've had many of these so it was a fluke, but sad anyway.

Re: Stone Levitation clone question
And since this IS a Levitation thread - I just dropped 1.5oz of Amarillo into mine today. I'm going to let it ride until Wed when I'll rack it to a carboy with some gelatin to really clear it up. Then, I'll keg it on Saturday. The only reason I'm racking it is because my Ale Pail (primary) won't fit...

Re: What's the worst commercial beer you've tasted?
CC, Uncommon Brewers is only a few miles from me. I had that beer at a local beer fest a few years ago and I poured it on the ground, too. That would be my second choice for sure. And I'm not aiming to throw anybody under the bus but the reality is that there are some bad beers out there just as the...

Re: All grain IPA tease
Did you First Wort Hops in this? It looks like there are some hops in the kettle already during the runoff (in your pic). And as far as BeerSmith - I do the same thing Roger does but I save the file as a Plain Text file. I then save all of those to Google Drive in case my laptop or BeerSmith dies. T...

Re: Stone Levitation clone question
I usually raise my temp by a few degrees near the end of fermentation on every brew, just to help the yeast out. I figure if it's a good enough practice for Jamil, it's good enough for me. That being said, I sure wouldn't worry about it if you don't do it. I haven't detected any sulphur nor diacytel...

What's the worst commercial beer you've tasted?
By commercial, I simply mean "purchased". It could be a major label or a micro brew, etc. - just not a homebrew gone bad. For me, the first thing that comes to mind is a Blueberry beer I had years ago from Sea Dog Brewing. Took one swallow, poured out the rest. I've a lot of beers that I d...

Re: Mr. Beer loyalty
Hey Dave, If you really want to vote with your wallet here you should try out the Brew Demon stuff. Remember that it's the old MrB recipes/extracts so you know what you'd be getting into and you'd be pointing your dollars elsewhere. I'm not saying you *should* or judging you if you don't - just poin...

Good stuff. I've not used NS for bittering, I've always saved it for flavor and aroma. I find Magnum to be pretty neutral so that ist my go-to. Re: Price Gouging...
Hmmm, captitalism at it's best or worst? I haven't seen that around here, although I do know of a liquor store that requires you to buy 2 other bottles if you show up to get a Pliny when they have it in stock. Forcing you to spend more money, yes - but at least it's not inflating the price of a sing...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
This evening I'm brewing what I hope is my consummate Nelson Sauvin SMaSH! I'm trying a few different tweaks to a recipe I've been brewing off and on for about 8 months! It's Close!! Curious to see your recipe. Mine is "close" to a SMaSH but I used a little munich and some magnum for bitt...
