Crazy question

Hey, not sure of where the best place to ask this is, so throwing out in this section. Bought a case of Grain Belt the other day, and the 1st 2 cans i opened were flat. Squeezed some of the remaining cans and guessing they may be flat as well. Is it a crazy idea to try and recarbonate them in bottle...

Re: champagne

Well wish I could say it turned out, but it didnt'.. Started off sweet in the mouth but the finish was very vinegarry. Maybe it needed to acclimate longer in the bottle or should have more time in the fermenter, IDK. Not sure if I will give it another try or not. Started the Brewdemon pilsner.. stic...

Re: champagne

For those that have been following and or waiting for an update, I bottled this about 2 weeks ago and have been letting it acclimate in the bottle. It's cleared pretty nicely. Ended up with 3 bottles worth and probably could've made another but didn't have any more bottles. I didn't prime any of the...

Growler Dispenser

Looking to continue to support my local brewpubs and thinking about buying a growler or two. However, my experience with growlers is they have to be finished in 2 maybe 3 sittings before the carbonation is gone. Not that I object to doing so, but have a 3 month old in the house now so the missus pro...

Re: champagne

Pulled the fruit out on Friday so now just have to let it ferment another 30 days before bottling.

Can't say I detected anything such as smell or otherwise to let me know how we are doing.

I do know that the bubbler was definitely bubbling for the majority of the fermenting time so far.

Re: champagne

I will have to give the bottles some more thought. I was just planning to use some wine bottles with screw on tops. Maybe I won't need to or should evern prime since the directions just say bottle. So in that case to call it champagne... IDK, all i know is that is what is written on the recipe note ...

Re: champagne

It's a recipe she was given 30+ years ago by my cousin's piano teacher.. Don't know if she's ever tried making it... Going to start a batch hopefully this weekend since it takes about 50 days of fermentation. 30 days with the fruit in it and then 20 days afterward before bottling. Which leads to my ...

Re: Carbonation Question and time to experiment

Ended up writing off the IPA as none of the bottles I opened carbonated. :( I have a batch of Witbier conditioning so hopefully it cabonated. If the first few I open haven't carbonated at least I know I can attempt to re prime. Started a 2 gallon batch of Dante's delight weisenbier so see how that g...

Re: Carbonation Question and time to experiment

I’m using a mix of used brands of beer bottles. Mainly from Summit and Molson. Using metal caps and a two handed bottle capper. I feel like I am getting them on secure since I don’t have any leaks when I invert them. As much as I hate to say it the thing I keep coming back to is did I or did I not p...

Carbonation Question and time to experiment

Just bottled my 4th batch from by BrewDemon. I've done the pilsner, cider, IPA and the witbier. Pilsner and cider turned out fine, but so far my batch of IPA did not carbonate in the bottle. It sat for 2+ weeks in the fermenter and bottle conditioned for 2 as well. What would cause it to not carbona...

Re: BrewDemon 1st Batch results & questions

I did a taste test to see if it was done and it tasted like flat beer, which to me indicated ( by way of the directions) it was done. The bottles that I did drink ( some I didn't do a good job of capping) did have a excessive head on them being poured. Maybe that's from it not being 100% fermented a...
