Re: Switching From Cane Sugar to Dextrose…
Thanks both…. My past few batches have been cloudy and acetalihyde-y, so, I fermented for four weeks this time around and I’m going to use dextrose and bottle condition for another four weeks (bottling today!!!) to see if that solves my problems. Stay tuned…

Switching From Cane Sugar to Dextrose…
I got a recommendation to use dextrose (corn sugar) in stead of cane sugar, because it’s easier for yeast to break down during the carbonation process. How much dextrose should I use for a 1L bottle of beer? The cane sugar recommendation from BrewDemon was 2.5 teaspoons. Thanks!

Re: Excess trub
Thanks for posting this, Richenbaum…. I got a recommendation elsewhere on this forum to 2x the amount of yeast in my Brewdemon recipe (the company recipes seem to undergun everything, from ingredients to time), and, it 2x’d the amount of trub…not all the way over the tap, but, I definitely have it l...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?
I have three things fermenting at the moment…an IPA, a Pilsner and an Oatmeal Stout. All from Brewdemon. I’m three weeks in, just checked and my gravity is terminal but all three are still cloudy and smell a bit like apples…so I’m going to let ‘em ride and take another sample in another week.

Re: Beer Does Not Clear!!!!
Okay…so, double the yeast, triple the fermentation time and quadruple the bottle conditioning time. Somebody ought to update the BrewDemon instructions.

Re: Beer Does Not Clear!!!!
Thanks Mashani…I will attempt to brew with greater patience. My temperature is right on grade, but, I’m only fermenting for 10 days and then drinking after 3-4 days. Will reply with results when I have them.

Beer Does Not Clear!!!!
When I brew BrewDemon Pilsner, I have tried fermenting for as many as 10 days, then bottle conditioning for as long as a week, but, it always comes out cloudy (and tasting more like apple juice than beer). Do I need to ferment/bottle condition longer? How much longer? Or do I need to do something el...
