i have always used filtered water, i would not think there is a big difference between whats on/in a fridge and my water cooler filter. i have had only one batch of beer that i could not drink. i have heard if the water taste good to you, its ok for beer.

update: i got all 19.5lbs of grain in with 6 gallons of water, probably could have add another 3 pound of two row. after sparging ended up with just under 10 gallons, after 60min boil, 8 gallons. ended up with 10.5 gallons. fermentation is going great. thanks, i will do two mashes in two pots, total...

my first 10 gallon batch. with 10.5 gallon mash/boil pot custom brew bag two propane burners about 19.5 lb grain bill hope all the water and grains fit into the bop. i have my pulley system setup, hope its not a PITA. not sure on my sparging, will wait and see, i plan on having plenty of hot water s...

dave, how long have you had your lbks? how many batches?
personally i do not mind the foamers. i just wait until it goes liquid again.
thats just me, i make it, i drink it, if possible.
the 3 or 6 gallon carboys cant hurt

i have used baby food jar that i got free off to craigslist. i washed yeast for about two years. i am not planning on doing anymore i will use dry yeast for the first batch then pitch another batch of beer on the yeast cake. so i can at least get two batches out of one packet. i do think the plastic...

what about the yeast?
i have only had one gusher batch, and i did drink it.
i was thinking it was the chocolate malt thing that the "HAT" brought up a while back.
everyone is talking equipment, but what about the yeast and yeast starters.
might be a combination of things.

i use plastic, soda bottles. i like my bourbon and dr Pepper, 7up, pespi 1/2 liter mostly. i would only use glass if i drank out of the bottles. if i am going to pour into a glass for drinking why use glass bottles - harder to store, easier to break ... each to their own. i am a cheap @#$$% kegging ...
