Re: I hate dry hopping

I use a ss mesh screen over my keg dip tubes and they work pretty well when going commando with pellet hops. I will say that I only use 2.5 gal kegs and my dry hopping is usually less than an ounce.

Re: Hop Recommendations?

HBC438, used in an ipa a couple weeks ago. A bit pricey but the proceed went to ALS. Not sure but I think you can still find some out there, I got mine from Label Peelers.

Re: Lemondrop hops

I ordered the Lemon drop and the El Dorado from FarmHouse a couple months ago and have been going back in forth on how to use them. After much deliberation I decided to use them separately in my next ipa, going with the El Dorado first and adding Citra and Centennial all at >10min additions and bitt...

Re: Slow Ride

Forgot to mention the other one I plan to try soon... Brooklyn Brewery's 1/2 Ale, which is a session saison. My Whole Foods has the Bikini Beer homebrew kits... but only in the "starter" set that comes with fermenters and such. I would have bought one today had they had it in refill form....

Re: Applebee's jumping on the craft bandwagon?

I recently complained to the Longhorn steakhouse FB page about there decision to replace the one craft beer that I always enjoyed with my steak for another bmc apple malt beverage. They removed SN pale ale and I haven't been back, maybe I need to give Applebee's a try.

Re: What is the appeal of IPA's?

I'm a craft beer lover first and foremost and really appreciate all well crafted beer as Dave has mentioned. That being said I don't always care for some of the beers I try even though they may taste very true to their style and then there are some that are just not well made. I do have a preference...

Re: Maybe I should not fool with adjusting water

You may want to have your tap water tested just to see if there any changes happening in the water from the source to your tap, the age and condition of those lines may be causing an issue for you. Maybe brew a beer that you've brewed before making water adjustments and see if you can better tell if...

Pretty mainstream stuff, picked them up at the Kroger today. Still looking for the Lagunitas pale ale that Kealia suggested.

Re: Mixer-sixer thread

Pretty sweet score Ron, I'd like to try the Lagunitas pale ale. I don't remember seeing it were I shop, they also allow you to mix a six. Going there today after work so I'll have to look for it. Good luck leaving them alone and remembering that more is just 10min away

Re: Vinnie's 10 factors to making better hoppy beers

And the other one that I found interesting was the one on yeast removal. Maybe transferring to a secondary before dry hopping might be something to try. I'm going to print that out and take note of a few of those comments for the next IPA that I do. I've noticed this in the few ipa's that I've done...

Re: I am a bad boy

Been hearing alot about that hop lately, and surprised that's it's been around since 2010. You got a great price for them, maybe do a PTE colne and use ALL El Dorado hops!
