Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Nice fermentor, Wabbit. How do you temp control that? Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk My basement typically stays at around 66 so I typically just let it ride. Overall it’s a nice fermenter but I wouldn’t purchase it again due to the restrictions on not being able to lager without additional...

Re: Old Borg Collab Recipe

Thanks guys! Lots going on since I poked my head in. Have a son who’s almost 2 so brewing took a back seat. Also had a knee surgery in September 2020 due to a torn meniscus. That’s always fun chasing an 18 month old on crutches. But finally back to brewing!

Old Borg Collab Recipe

Hello everyone! Been quite a while since i've stopped by the Borg! Still have my shirts that I wear weekly though! :) I was looking at some old photos and came across a photo today of a Borg Collab recipe we did back in November 2011ish time frame. My photo appears to be from bottle aging so it was ...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Nice to see the forum is up and active! Stopped by to find a recipe we did as a collab way way way back in 2012. Was a chocolate Oatmeal Stout. In the meantime, here is my transfer of my Weiz Guy Weizenbock! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210301/ed65c3ed89c0c36ed6c8d1f6ce487793.jpg Sent from my ...

Re: Opinions wanted: Capturing CO2

I understand that but you still want something to keep the CO2 in the keg once primary dies down and the liquid is out. The spundling valve can let you set the PSI in the keg to like 2 and push it out after that. It would allow to keep pressure on the keg even after the liquid is gone. Sent from my ...

Re: Opinions wanted: Capturing CO2

Not sure this would work 100% but based on my research on pressurized fermentation you might need a spundling valve set up to the gas port to release the extra pressure that builds up. You could set it to like 5 psi and if it gets to that level it would act as a pressure release valve automatically....

Re: What are you drinking?

My Kolsch that I kegged Friday night. Made this last year with 2 different yeasts in a split batch. One was crystal clear and the other wasn’t. Couldn’t remember which yeast was the clearer one. Apparently the only I chose was wrong. Oh well! It’s still delicious! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Just did my first pressurized transfer from conical to keg. Went well and didn’t take long at all. It’s my Kolsch recipe and delicious!

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Taking the new system and room for its inaugural brew day. Brewing up 11 gallons of a new pale ale recipe for my wife’s cousins wedding in September and 11 gallons of my Kolsch recipe. Crossing my fingers for minimal incidents Saturday.

Re: Basement Brewery Build

Thanks guys! Appreciate the comments.

The floor does slope slightly toward the drain. Not much by design but because that is how the floor was sloped when it was poured. Just worked out well.
