Re: What are you drinking?
"pale ale" while eating some "green bell peppers". Because apparently that's how the world works now. LOL I know most on here are hop-heads...but this Stone Mint Coffee Milk Stout was pretty good! They didn't go overboard with the mint IMO (which is something most breweries do)

Re: 2016 Thirsty Classic
Thanks everyone! It was definitely fun entering a competition for the first time. Loved being able to get unbiased feedback which was really the main reason I entered. I think it will prove valuable in helping me become a better brewer. Damn near everything I know, I learned from stalking around her...

Re: 2016 Thirsty Classic
for the record, I don't taste the "blunt bitter taste at the end" and the other judge didn't seem to either. When I saw that I was like, Oh no I must of messed up somewhere, but maybe that judge is just sensitive to bitter? I don't know?

2016 Thirsty Classic
So I entered my first competition. 1 Entry. A Blonde Ale. Went up against 9. 2nd Place...Silver!!!! Woohoo. They emailed and said the medal was in the mail! A score of 35 and 39 (<- I like him better LOL) for a final score of 37 . Obviously the tasting of anything is very subjective but it was nice ...

+1 on adding after primary fermentation.
I've done a few fruit beers and best ones by far have been when added after initial fermentation slows down or stops.

Re: Any experiences with mini regulators?
@FIT - yeah I have a picnic tap as well and have used both. Both have advantages and disadvantages so in the future I'll likely just switch between the 2 for whatever works in the situation. most the CO2 cartridge chargers I've seen run $15 to 20 with mixed reviews. Likely that will be my fall back ...

Re: Weed vs. Beer
Since I'm in California, come January I do have the option of: Actually, the law went into effect immediately after it passed. It is currently OK and legal to possess, smoke, eat, stick up your a** , make some classy tea, etc.. You just can't buy it recreationally until (I hear) Jan 2018, due...

Any experiences with mini regulators?
So I bought this Ball Lock beer faucet ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZZRR3K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) and so far it works pretty great. In an effort to make my tiny keg super portable, I've been trying to find a way to dispense without lugging around my CO2 tank. An...

Got my Back to Basics Blonde on tap in the new mini keg (first kegged homebrew for me!). Keeping it light, crisp, and easy drinking so we don't take too much away from the meal.

Re: Behind Enemy Lines 5: The Drunkening (A tad pic heavy)
Behind the scenes private tour of Budweiser. With free range access to their storage room to taste anything we wanted. Stuff: 2nd pic - we got to taste from every step of the process, starting with cooled wort to finished product. The craft brew drinkers of the group actually liked the 3rd bottle. T...
