sorry for the long repost time but I had to do some experiments that required me to brew up another batch . I used a hop spider in steed of just throwing them in loose and low and behold my amount of trub was cut by 50%. I had no idea that the hops were contributing that much to the size of the cold...

s 33 dry yeast

just used 33 dry yeast in a apa and would like to hear from anyone who has used 33 in the past to get some info on it. I know the basics , like the fact that it dose not like to drop well and that it will ferment high % beers well. any other little tidbits on this yeast would be appreciated. thanks.

Re: whirlfoc tabs

Hi kealia, about the amount, its about 3/4 of a tablet to 5.5 gal boil. I try to not use a full tab since I shoot for 4 gal batches with 5.5-6 gal boils.
as far as the song go's, yes your right. I like their first 3 albums the best.

Re: What are you drinking?

just found out that new Belgium is, or has made an other batch of MIGHTY ARROW. I have to try to save some for the barbeque tomorrow. This is the beer that got me into home brewing. Sadly I have not been able to perfect my version of it but in time. There selling it here in variety packs, 4 to a 12 ...

Re: whirlfoc tabs

stuck sparges is one thing I have never had in 34 batches now. I use a SS braid and its about 18" long. 3/4 the length of my Colman extreme. I must say thought I have not always used that tight of a gap. had eff issues and went to a tighter gap, got 7-10% better eff. some mills are not =, they ...

whirlfoc tabs

I use whirlfoc tabs in my boil but I'm starting to wonder if I use too much or if I skip them, what the difference would be in the amount of trube I end up with after the boil/ cool down. I ask this because I get a lot of trube in most of my brews prior to transfer some are pushing 35% of the kettle...

Re: GITCHEE GUMEE BREWFEST

well now, between the pretzels and the water, and the fact they give you only a 3oz glass for samples I should be able to get though about 1/2 of the 120 deferent beers they say they have there. thanks for the info guys. ps I will take pics but getting them on the site is another thing.
