Re: Help! Flat Beer
Ahh, thanks Ink... I meant to say 3/4 a teaspoon for each 12 oz. bottle. 3 teaspoons would be waaayy to much.

Re: Help! Flat Beer
great to hear.. I was afraid my beer was ruined. In the past I've always done PET bottles and I usually test a few in the fridge after 1 week of conditioning to see where I stand. This is the first time I used glass 12oz bottles.... is there typically a difference in using the glass bottles compared...

Re: Help! Flat Beer
Sounds good, i'll do that. There is also zero head retention. Will that get better with longer conditioning as well? I had 1/2 lb of Carapils and usually get great results using that.

Help! Flat Beer
So I recently made a beer using 2 brew demons, 1 for primary and another for the secondary. the recipe used a lot of hops, so the primary was a little overwealmed with trub on the botttom so I racked to secondary. I left the beer in the secondary for 2 weeks, added my sugar (3 teaspoons) to each 12 ...

Re: Is my beer ruined?
Yup. Turned out great! Had first tasting straight out of the LBC the other day and it tastes absolutely amazing! American Wheat ale with a slight hint of cherry aftertaste. Bottling begins in a few days.
Thanks!

Let's hope it turns out ok. Thanks!

Re: My First Brew Ever! ...and a few questions
Haha, SWMBO only drinks bud light so her vote doesn't count  . I had her try Allagash White and Heady Topper and she goes "ewww". Beer isn't her thing, it's all good. Anyway, here is the first pour. I was at my parents house and thought some frosty mugs would be cool, so didn't really...

Re: My First Brew Ever! ...and a few questions
Congrats on a successful first brew!!! If you like how it tastes, then no harm in putting a couple more in the fridge. You may consider putting one in each week to see how the flavor changes over time. However, we'll all understand if you toss them all in and drink them immediately. That first batc...

Re: My First Brew Ever! ...and a few questions

Re: My First Brew Ever! ...and a few questions
believe i'd just put 1 in the fridge let the others age more. Yes, you want to give them two weeks at room temperature to carbonate and at least two more weeks at room temperature to condition properly. You can put one in the fridge and then you'll have a basis for comparison. It's amazing what a d...

Re: My First Brew Ever! ...and a few questions
Thanks again guys! Been reading some more posts here and catching up on terminology and whatnot... will continue to get up to speed as I wait for my bottles to condition. * praying that I don't have any bottle bombs! They have been conditioning for about a week, probably give them another week or we...
