Imperial Yeast

I just woke up 3 different strains from Imperial the G03 Dieter, A01 House and A38 Juice, these were dated July of 2019. Did each of the first 2 with 3 step up starters, might leave the last at 2 steps cause the first 2 woke up in a big way. I had vigorous activity on both the G03 and the A01 within...

Re: Sediment/trub

Just pour slowly and leave that last little bit, it is from a secondary fermentation that actually carbonates the beer when bottle conditioning. Only way to truly avoid it is to keg and have one big bottle basically that will have a bit of sediment on the bottom, instead of multiple bottles. It real...

Re: Dry kit vs Brew Demon Canned kit

Welcome, brew what you're comfortable with till you get a couple under your belt. There is no cheating if you're brewing in the end, still need to boil, cool and ferment it!

Re: Brewdemon noob

Welcome!! Bottle conditioning should be done warmer so upstairs. Stay in Basement for fermenting, ambient temp is better but the first few days the active fermentation will raise the temp a few degrees, if you can keep the first week of fermentation 68 or cooler you're good!

Re: Back at brewing still a newbie

Cold crashing will leave enough yeast to bottle condition, and YES you can tell people you brew your own beer, if nobody else brewed it for you from your stove top then you brewed it!!!! BREW-ON!!!! ENJOY!

Re: Platform bought by InBev

Like Chris, local and never saw this coming from them considering one of the owners is/was a homebrewer and LHBS owner. Paul has put out a message though that Cleveland Brew Shop, which is across the street, he started before he started Platform was not part of the sale. Sad day locally in NE Ohio. :(
