Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Today I Brewed a Chocolate Milk Stout, just a 5G extract w/steeping grains recipe from Northern Brewer. I've made this one before too, it has a 1lb of grain, along with 4oz of Cacoa nibs to soak in Vodka and then add about a week or so after brewing. Makes the whole house smell good while steeping t...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

This morning I Brewed a Bastard Stepson Hard Rootbeer, it's a 5G Extract recipe from Northern Brewer. It's pretty much a family favorite around here. It's usually got a 4-5% ABV so low alcohol content, tastes good (if you like root beer), and is especially good with a glass of ice cream.

Re: Introduction: Greetings

Sounds good and welcome to the site, lots of good info here and helpful people too. I've still got my 2G Mr. Beer Kegs and my 3G BrewDemon Conical fermenters. While I mostly brew 5G recipes, those smaller fermenters come in handy when I occasionally brew a 1G or 2G recipe.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

This Saturday morning, I Brewed an Irish Blonde Ale, it's a 5G Extract w/steeping grains recipe from Northern Brewer. And while I'm doing that, I noticed on this recipe that it said if you want to skip the secondary fermentation then just add one week to the primary fermentation. So I go look at the...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

I Brewed 5G Scottish Wee Heavy Ale, it's a 5G Extract w/steeping grains recipe from Northern Brewer this afternoon. They recommended using a secondary fermenter (seems like a lot of the stronger/heavier recipes are like that) and fermenting for a total of 8-10 weeks before bottling. That's a lot lon...

Re: The No Post Post

Yep, still here but haven't made beer in a while, due to other commitments. As I normally brew/bottle/etc.. on Saturday mornings and throughout the spring/summer and fall we're vendors at some local farmer's markets. That's mostly over for the season now, so I'll be brewing shortly. Which is a good ...

Wow, after googling those two types, that sounds pretty good..

Haha.. That's a great idea, and yes he does, as I've shared quite a few of my brews with him. Congrats on the gun purchase. Quite often it's all about having the money on hand or can get to it quickly right then when they jump into a new hobby.

Re: The No Post Post

I have seen so many people jump into a new hobby and go balls out and spend $$$$ and in a few years get board and move on to something new and do the same big money spending on something different. I've got a co-worker like that, he jumps in head first into any new hobby, spends a bunch of money, f...
