Hellfire Brew and Bottle Labels

Here I have the Hellfire red brewing and what pops into my head? Bottle labels of course. I used an Alice Cooper image for the photo. In the background is an American Ale that I just finished bottling. http://highabovedesign.com/beer/beer1.jpg http://highabovedesign.com/beer/beer2.jpg http://highabo...

Re: Forbidden Fruit Hard Cider Recipe

that sounds like a good idea. This one was a bit too basic I think and lacked the real fruit flavor.

Forbidden Fruit Hard Cider Recipe

Well I brewed this batch mainly for my wife. She says it's good, I don't like it but I can't pinpoint why exactly. I suppose I was expecting something a bit more sweet. It packs a punch and smells good. It isn't so bad where I would flush it. I would like to try another cider and see if maybe it was...

specific gravity vs alcohol %

I'm just wondering what the difference is between testing for alcohol content and specific gravity? Am I wrong in thinking that if my batch tests appropriate for alcohol content that it's ready to bottle?

Is it Turbo Yeast

I was wondering if the yeast that ships with the Brew Demon brew kits is some sort of turbo yeast? I'm brewing the Hellfire Deep Red Ale and the fermentation stopped at two days. This was also the case with the Evil Pilsner. I also made a Passion Fruit Hard Apple Cider and it was bubbling for 2+ wee...

Re: First Batch Success!

The Evil Pilsner is a fantastic brew. There are a lot of comments telling me to keep brewing. Well, I actually just bottled a batch of Passion Fruit Hard Apple cider. I tested the specific gravity and alcohol content and let my wife drink the sample. She loves it! I actually made this batch for her ...

First Batch Success!

I used the Brew Demon Evil Pilsner
I let ferment for three weeks and let it carbonate for one week.

Tastes good to me.

Red Devil Apple Wheat yeast

i was wondering if i accidentally received an extra packet of yeast. My Brew Demon Red Devil Apple Wheat came with one packet of yeast under the cap of the Wheat Ale and then a second packet by itself. Each packet is 3g of yeast totaling 6g of yeast. I only use one packet right, or do I use all 6g? ...

How long does it keep

Just out of curiosity, how long will beer last if refrigerated in the plastic BrewDemon bottles? I was discussing it with a friend and he says the brew will only be good for a couple weeks. I am in the process of making the Evil Pilsner and am going to start a new batch right after I bottle it. I am...

Short fermentation time

This is my first go at brewing and I'm wanting to know if this sounds right. I have the 2 gallon kit with the bubbler upgrade and One Evil Pilsner mix. I'v noticed that after three days the bubbling has completely stopped. It was pretty active the first few days and hasn't bubbled in the last two. T...

Specific Gravity

OK, I've been trying to find out where the recommended specific gravity reading is located for my particular brew (One Evil Pilsner). I bought a hydrometer and the instructions say "Check your specific beer-making instructions to find out exactly what scale to use and what readings to look for....

New guy on board

Hello all, I am a complete newcomer to home brewing. My first batch is fermenting right now and I can't wait to taste it. I live outside of Chicago where there isn't a shortage of micro breweries so I figured I would give it a shot. I'm already looking at making another batch. This one I want to tas...
