Re: Craft Breweries Impact On Homebrewing

Is the recipe for CAB posted somewhere here? I searched, but couldn't find it. Unless I looked right over it, which is highly possible. Orig CAB Recipe 3# Light DME (I've been using 3.3# light LME) 1 lb table sugar 1 oz Meridian Hops (I've been using cascade since Jon moved from NY) 20 Minute Boil ...

Re: Craft Breweries Impact On Homebrewing

I get my LME in bulk for $2/lb if I bring my own containers. It's usually really fresh, but one time, they told me that they tapped the barrel about a week earlier. I generally freeze it when I get home, so it stays fresh for a long time. You can make a really good beer with fresh extract. Our grou...

We'll be flying our flag :flag: high and proud. My dad, wife and son in law all served in the US Army.

Grandson turns 2 on Memorial Day - Homebrews and a birthday party cook out are slated for Monday.

I wish - she's a border line wine snob. I can sneak in small purchases but a fridge would be kinda obvious. :o

Re: Nobody warned me...

It's even worse when a group of friends are sitting at your bar, you blow BOTH kegs and don't have a plan B. I'm seriously considering buying cheap full size fridge to keep a couple kegs on stand by. That's an expensive Plan B but would make that awful sound just a reason to swap a keg. Good grief, ...

Re: Beer. Simply Beer $19.99

19.99 is darn good pricing. If I were to buy 4 kits it reduces my shipping to less than $5 per kit. And I don't even have to get in the truck and drive. Here's their IPA recipe and what it would cost me at my LHBS. - 6 lbs Pilsen malt syrup ($20) - 1 lb Golden Light DME ($4) - 1 oz Columbus (60 min)...

Re: Neighborhood Homebrew Bandwagon

I hate 'in your face' government. That's the problem now, too much interference in my daily life. I agree. I'm pretty sure we'll be OK. This is 4 middle aged guys making some beer in a basement to drink together on weekends. We not running a meth lab and distributing it to drug addicts and minors. :)

Re: Neighborhood Homebrew Bandwagon

Are there any houses further up the street that are for sale? Would you believe the house next door just sold a couple weeks ago? I never really thought about any legal risks but maybe the 4 of us need to have that discussion to make sure I am not the supplier. In my mind, they are borrowing some o...

Neighborhood Homebrew Bandwagon

I live in a cul-de-sac and spend a lot of time socializing with our neighbors. Between the 4 households we have 3 basement bars and 4 kegerators. Neighbor #4 will have his bar completed this fall. The guys have decided to convert all their kegerators to homebrew. We have the capacity for six, 5 gal ...
