I know from helping with a couple of local competitions that there are several factors such as availability of location needed for judging, conflicts with other beer/homebrewing related events, availability of judges and stewards. We've had to move around one competition quite a few times.

Brewed a S'mores Stout a few weeks ago for a Winter Homebrew Fest. It turned out pretty nice. I mashed with graham crackers and cocoa power and I torched the marshmallows before throwing them into the boil. Next up is an Oberon clone.

Just had the Foundry delivered yesterday. Just in time for my birthday! I did some assembly today, read the manual, and heated it up to get a feel for the controls. Hopefully I spend some more time with it tomorrow. I'll post more once I get more hands on.

Two weekends in a row now I've brewed. Last one was a SMaSH with El Dorado hops and Maris otter grain. And today I brewed my Citra-nilla vanilla IPA with citra hops of course and the vanilla bean will go in in the secondary.
