Re: Spur of the moment cider

Here's a similar thread. I've done it a few times with great results. http://www.beerborg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=5746&p=86250&hilit=stupid+easy#p84163 How long do you usually wait to bottle/keg it? I know longer the better, but I'm kind of in a rush haha. I was thinking about ke...

Spur of the moment cider

Put together a spur of the moment cider yesterday. I know nothing about ciders but I was at the LHBS and picked up a pack of nottingham yeast, pitched it into 2.5 gallons of Aldi 100% Apple juice and added a cinnamon stick and a small box of raisins. Hoping I get a nice cider with a hint of cinnamon...

Re: 2016 King Of The Mountain

Thanks guys. So results were posted and I ended up with 2nd place for my blackberry cream ale, scoring a 39. Also got an HM for my bavarian hefeweizen. My pale ale "Pearl road pale ale" scored a 39 but didn't even get an HM.. crazy!

Re: Mashing temp for session beers

I brewed a session weiss beer with hardly any hop additions at 149 and it came out awesome. So I would agree with Jon about it varying by style.

Re: Brewing a Grapefruit Sculpin clone on my Grainfather

Jordan, I was able to watch the video during a lunch break and here are 2 suggestions if you don't mind me mentioning them. First, you have to have music while brewing good beer :) but for those of us who sometimes watch vids on an ipad, music too loud in the background can make it hard to understa...

Hmm tough competition. My blackberry cream ale scored a 39 and didn't even place or get an HM. Must have been some good ones.

2016 Wizard of Saaz

Any entries going on? Akron Ohio based and it is later this month. Just shipped out my cream ale (first time bottling from the keg, so I hope it didn't oxidize and hope it stayed carbed) and then another entry which was my cream ale racked onto blackberries (bottle conditioned).

Brewing a Grapefruit Sculpin clone on my Grainfather

Hey guys, just figured I would share a video I made... My first one ever so it's pretty bad and I was very nervous. Haha. I will make more in the future that hopefully turn out better. Enjoy! Little more info: This is Northern Brewers Grapefruit Pulpin recipe. Obviously a grapefruit sculpin clone.. ...

Grainfather

Anybody have one? I just splurged and bought one from Morebeer for $889. Will be here Thursday. I'm so excited. As some know, I brew in my apartment and it my mash tun, 10 & 5 gallon brew pots, wort chiller, etc just take up too much space. Now I will have an all in one system!

Re: Spent grain recipes/techniques

This is my homemade spent grain pizza I love to make. I don't make flour out of the grain, but I just use regular 3 cups or so of regular bread flour, 1 cup of the actual grain, yeast, salt and water. I like to melt some butter with a bit of garlic and put it on the crust. http://i.imgur.com/B2xWU47...

Re: Son of Brewzilla

Yeah! I am going to be taking the BJCP entrance exam, might try and judge next year if I'm ready. Did you do the off flavor tasting Sunday? Paul from LMHBA mentioned your club was holding and he was going. I did not. I had something else going on unfortunately. Paul is a great guy though and I hear...
