Re: Making my first Lager.

Curiosity killed the cat!. I tried a taste test of my first Lager after I month of cold lagering and it was fantastic. Im sure it will be even better after a longer time. Great head and lacing, could be a little clearer yet, but that will come. I attribute my success to the wealth of knowledge on th...

Vienna Malt

I was at the LHBS today discussing an Amber Ale recipe I had in mind and he suggested adding Vienna malt to it rather than Munich for a similar but more toasted malt flavor. This is an AG recipe. Anyone have any thoughts. Thanks, David

Re: Couldn't pass up the deal

Now I don't feel so bad. I too bought 4 cans of Patriot at half price. Nice to have one on hand for a quick and easy brew to play around with. Had not bought from Mr Beer in a year. All grain is far superior though. Cheers

Re: Carabrown Malt

Brought some Victory Brown Ale to work yesterday that contained 1 Pd of Carabrown Malt and it was extremely well liked. The Carabrown gives a nice toastiness with no astringency, a nice smoothness to it. I especially liked the color, its clarity, kind of a golden brown. Definitely well liked. Cheers

Re: Big news in the Hat Family

Great news Dave. The holidays are such a great time for family. I was fortunate a few years ago to have my daughter and her husband, and my son and his wife announcing they were all having children and neither new about it. One of the great days of my life. Cheers
