Re: Taking a break

Since you mentioned retirement, that's another change I've made. I don't remember retiring, but several people have assured me that I told them that I did. One of those people is my brother who is in management with the company. He pointed out that I haven't been paid in almost a year. So I guess I...

Re: Taking a break

Oh wow, so sorry that happened to you! I'm very happy you're better. That's just awful but it's great you have the determination to keep going and even do better. Congrats to you on that. For me, I stick to walking in the mornings and gym a few afternoons a week. I don't do it for any other reason b...

Re: The No Post Post

It is sad. I'm just so busy with so many things I've not brewed in 3 months. I check in now and then but have nothing to offer.
Ahhh, the good ole days!

Great beer, just simple and good! I try to almost always have some in the fridge.

Re: Nectaron

1 batch isn't enough for me to fully know but in this one, it's a clean, slightly fruity taste. The aroma does have some tangerinish scents with what I think might be nectar.
Should have kept it simpler to know for sure but this version is yummy.

Nectaron

Ain't cheap but, I really like them. That's after only 1 brew with them. I brewed a simple, big pale ale with Magnum at bittering and almost all Nectaron except a bit of Citra and I was very impressed. Very tasty but pretty expensive too. But, what hobby isn't.

Re: Cracked spigot...

Obviously, it is overly oxidized. Sorry that happened. Going forward, if you are dedicated to brewing, you might look into getting fermenting equipment that is a bit more durable but more costly.
We live and learn, right? The next beer may be your best.

Re: carbing

Glad to hear it. I kegged yesterday and had it on 30 for 24 hours and now down to 18. I'll try a taste in a bit but it's usually nearly there after 2 full days. Still a few more days sitting and clearing is helpful but if you want it fresh a f$(%, this is the way to do it. Mine would be 2 weeks sinc...
