Re: BeerBorg User Map

Bump.

This map could probably use a good cleaning. But in the meantime, I wanted to bump this thread in case there's any new members who want to get on the map.

Re: How much have you brewed in 2021?

I saw the 2022 thread had started, and it reminded me that I hadn't updated my 2021 entry (see above) in over 9 months. Only brewed 6 batches in 2021. Between the pandemic and relocating away from many of my beer-drinking buddies in 2020, I now drink a larger percentage of my output, hence the need ...

Re: How much have you brewed in 2022?

* Jan 21 - Rauchbier - 1 gallon [Batch #113] RUNNING TOTAL - 1 gallons I do both extract and all-grain batches. Usually I brew customized 3-gallon recipes, as I have a 3-gallon fermenter and 3-gallon keg. About 8 batches per year. Occasional 1-gallon stovetop experimental batches, for recipes that I...

Re: Brewery recommendations

Too bad I moved out of Western Mass last year, I could have given you a tour! Here's a few to ponder, besides Tree House. Listed roughly south-to-north. Places for which I would personally vouch: New England Brewing, Woodbridge, CT https://newenglandbrewing.com/ Skyline Beer Co., Westfield, MA https...

Re: Brewery recommendations

Lots of good options in Western New England. And, if you're willing to stretch the trip out to Central Massachusetts, a pilgrimage to Tree House in Charlton, MA is highly recommended. To think that 10 years ago, they were four guys brewing in a shed, and now they've got this (plus 2 other locations)...

Moderna shot #1 ten days ago. Sore arm for a day, and mild chills the first night. :freeze: Expecting more side effects with #2, as Moderna's trials showed about twice as high a rate of side effects as Pfizer (P under 5%, M more like 9%). I've heard chills mentioned a lot by Moderna folks. The fact ...

Blending Guinness stouts

Any Guinness fans here? I'd be curious to know what you think of this beer columnists assertion that Guinness Stout has changed over time, and his experience with blending Guinness Draft Stout and Guinness Foreign Extra Stout: https://www.masslive.com/entertainment/2021/01/beer-nut-creating-a-guinne...

Re: South Carolina!

I had a project in Springfield about 10 years ago. Flew into Hartford. There was a huge liquor store out there (Table & Vine? I think ). They probably had 3 or 4 aisles of beer, and one of those aisles probably had more shelf space than the entire state owned liquor store near me. I was just st...

And, we "park our cars" -- we don't "pahk owah cahs." ;) CC :) , People think I should sound like Brooklyn because am in NY, I am in the far western part of NY and might have a hard time understanding them in the East. How you doing with the SC twang. It will catch on before you...

Re: South Carolina!

That's a cool family brewing story!

I wasn't in the Boston area - I was near Springfield, and the Connecticut border. Folks in the Springfield area tend to identify more with Hartford than Boston, actually. And, we "park our cars" -- we don't "pahk owah cahs." ;)

Re: South Carolina!

Anyone who is still active on the Borg in South Carolina? Seems like the last posts from most of the above members were many years ago. I moved to the Charleston area recently. Enjoying the local breweries (although I arrive spoiled by previously living in MA, with relatively-easy access to Tree Ho...

Re: 10 yr Anniversary Beer

Haven't visited the Borg in a while, but came here tonight, and just saw this thread. It's a very timely thread for me, because today was my 10-year brewing anniversary, and I brewed a batch today to "celebrate" the occasion. 10 years ago, 1/5/2011, it was a Mr. Beer West Coast Pale Ale on...
