Re: Mash and boil questions

Enjoy! I'm late to the party as normal but I picked up a GrainFather and love it. I use the pump every batch and love how I can create and run the brew session from my phone. One of the reasons I went with the GF was you can buy some accessories for it and make a small batch of hard stuff. I'm going...

Re: Just got a Brewdemon

Welcome to the forum! And so it begins. Start out small then end up with a room full of pots/carboys/bottles/kegs/couple hundred pounds of grains/hops/toys, etc.... LOL it's a nice obsession.

Re: How much have you brewed in 2019?

:borg: ok, just got home, checked me log book, did 15 batches so far this year. Hitting the brew supply point most likely this Friday... LOL, I just don't count batches anymore. I count 50lb sacks, I'm on number 2 this year, #3 is sitting next to that one waiting to be opened. I'm kegging a wheat t...

Re: An informational message for the 1st timers

Welcome to the forum! If you want to brew the same size batches for now, you can learn to steep grains, do partial mashes and go from there. You can even mix and match DME/LME and hops to get different beers. From there, if you want to start doing all grain brewing, it takes a little more equipment/...

Hope so. As soon as I pick up a toy hauler, I'm building on for the back, as well as a brewing station. Glamping is going to be soooooo much fun!!

Re: My first cider--questions

I've my tried and true Nong Cider. 3 gallons apple juice (no additives), 2 lbs table sugar,2 lbs Golden Brown sugar, 1/2 lbs lactose, (apple pie or pumpkin pie spice is optional), and wine yeast. Works every time I try it. I've used this recipe for a few years, it rocks! When I want to see bubbles,...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Brewing up 5.5 gallons of German Hefewiezen in my Grainfather. 3rd batch with it, first 2 were a learning curve. This pot kicked up my brewing efficiency a good 10 points, first 2 bathes were my normal mash/pot set-up recipe. Both came out quite a bit above my expected numbers. This batch was change...

Passing the can-Help keep this forum open

Done! Not much but hope it helps. I'm expecting a big hosp. bill for repairs to a finger. Chainsaw tried to take one off and VA wants to fight the bill.

Re: What are you drinking?

Well, thought I was out of brew totally and found half a case of a 10.5% Red in the back of the closet I made bout 3 years back. More like a very strong hopped red. Atleast I'm drinking a beer.... LOL This one kinda reminds me of why I've started brewing more of a balanced or very lightly hopped bre...
