Hey, I am in Eaton County and looking for some homebrewers in the area. Do you all know where I can find some like minded brewers around here?

Re: Nine month ferment? Hey Michigan people....
Up close it looks like granular yeast. After I knew this was done fermenting, I put a few layers of Saran Wrap on the top and tightly screwed the lid down. That Saran Wrap is bowed up a little, but not threatening to pop. If it’s vinegar, I should be able to smell that once I take the lid off. If it...

Nine month ferment? Hey Michigan people....
Well hello all. We moved from MO to MI and are about settled in. About. Does it ever end? I need to get back on here more regularly once I get my home brewery put together. (Anyone from Central Michigan?) I have another oatmeal stout question. My last one can be found in its own thread on here (it b...

Re: I’ve got a Kölsch that is stuck
Mashani, I think a Saison would be nice to try on. I'd like to find a 3-3.5% grain kit and brew a batch.

Re: I’ve got a Kölsch that is stuck
Remember this stuck Kölsch? Well, I took 5 gallons of it and 3 gallons of my Rye to a BBQ Saturday. Only nine people because of coronavirus restrictions LOL. I'd say roughly 11 of us emptied these 8 gallons. I either need less friends or to brew more beers. I can't wait to get to MI so I can brew ye...

Re: First time brewer
Hi Norman, I too started brewing on a BrewDemon, two years ago. I still buy their extracts when they are on sale, so I can toy around and add other ingredients like, jalapeno peppers, whiskey soaked oak chips, smoked grains, etc. The extract cans are still easy for me at this stage (not a full-blown...

Re: Keg to bottle questions
FYI - you don't have to fill the bottles 100% full. And notice that pro brewers don't do this either. Fill to about 1-inch from the top. Place cap on top, hold with finger, invert the bottle to cause the beer to foam, when the foam pushes the cap up, cap it down. The foam pushes out any oxygen and ...

Re: Brewing Equipment you would like.
I started on canned extracts a couple years ago then ramped up to grain kits and DME's. I am now wanting to jump up to all grain recipes. We are moving to Michigan May/June, so I won't be upgrading anything until settled in up there. You experienced brewers already know what brewing equipment I will...

Re: Flow Control multiple taps
I don’t think you need to worry much about it. I have one tank with a dual regulator. Then each regulator is split for two lines. So, I have the capability to run 4 kegs of of one tank. I’ve never had any reason to run a flow control with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk So a splitter without...

Flow Control multiple taps
What do you do for flow control on multiple taps? Can we use ball valves on a manifold? Is a flow control tap necessary? How about something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftWG3c9DNWs?
I am wondering if I even need to worry about the flow of two different kegs on one gas cylinder.

Re: Keg to bottle questions
I bottle as full as I can, but even when there is the standard space there, the bottles stay carbed. John, how long do you think your bottles stay carbed this way? Years. Well then why even carb for four weeks in a bottle? That's crazy talk. I discovered a while new way to deer more beer faster. Th...

Re: I’ve got a Kölsch that is stuck
Mashani, I'll solve all that by moving to MI once the school year is over (8yr old daughter). The basement is much cooler than my non-basement home here in Misery/Missouri. I have also recently acquired a like-new rebuilt three door industrial refrigerator. I can now brew at most any temperature I w...
