I have used Black patent in an CDA, it can get a bit overpowering at times. I have switched to midnight wheat since I went to all grain and it is much smoother. The first CDA I was trying to clone was Discord by Pyramid, they use Black patent. The key to patent is using VERY little of it.

I use Nuggets in my lemon pale ale. I use it as a 30 min bittering, I follow it with a 20 and 10 min citra. I find it a nice balance with the fresh lemon zest and juice.

I am not the best at defining flavors, but maybe Phil can express it better as he has had the lemon pale ale.

I was picturing that washer as the one I have to give to the soon to be ex and loved the heck out of that video!

I bottled a 5 gallon batch of Smoked IPA. Will be bottling a 2 gallon batch of Lemon pale ale tomorrow. I hope to brew an American Red Sunday.

Welcome, the duck pretty much covered the gauntlet of fermenters used around here. Many people use the 2.5 gallon slimline as a batch priming container and bottle out of it.

I lost my MIL, my neighbor, and some really good friends in 2013. Fuck 2013. Of course, I made a lot of great beer!!!!!!!!!! :woot: I am losing my wife of 25 years and a whole bunch of money. So I share your sentiment on 2013. My brewing right now is about the only thing keeping me "sane".

You're correct Jim. Don't boil the HME, I have been doing extracts for awhile didn't think that through well . I would do a dme boil with some bittering hops to help that HME though.

I am going to brew a straight MB Diablo IPA refill and want to dry hop for aroma and taste(?) enhancements. So, I have been researching and this is what I have found. Brew as per MB instructions, then approximately 6-8 days before bottling, add 1/2 - 1 oz of hops in a weighted hops bag to the ferme...
