Re: carbing

I kegged a almost SMaSH (a little c-10 and carapils] PA , was cold crashed to 40 deg in the fermenter. Set @30 psi and was going to try Johns Sands 30 for 30 but tried a few at 24 (that time of day for me :) ) and was very close, about like a week on set and forget. So I tried the Beer-lord 18 psi f...

Re: carbing

in a few more days I'm going to keg a Cascade APA and going to do the 24-30Hr @30 again. What I like about this is I didn't have to bleed down and waste CO2 and wasn't over carbed and everything was settled. The Co2 was absorbed, so actually the same amount that would of been used with set and forge...

Re: carbing

Last night I had a decent carbed irish red that I kegged the day before, so this does work. Not sure I would do it every time because I think beer always get's better with some lager time and in a week at serve pressure it is always drinkable but a few more days is better. The only problem that I ha...

carbing

So I always like to try something new, New to me that is. I mostly do the set and forget carbing at serving pressure and in about a week or so might try and close to carb, and a few more days is good,I have tried the shake high pressure fast but don't like bleeding off and wasting co2, doing the 24 ...

Re: Options For BrewDemon 2 Gallon Conical

1) Are there any other manufacturers that make a kit that works with the way BrewDemon is set up? Are you looking for the canned type kits? I only know of brewDemon, coopers/Mb that that do that, there might be others I don't know about. As others have said, you have a fermenter and can ferment any...

Re: Stout Ideas and suggestions.

I've only used coffee twice but I found making cold brew was better for a coffee porter I made. Supposedly it's not a bitter and acrid than boiled coffee. It should sit for about 24 hours in the fridge. Yes, I think the cold brew would be the way to go, I was just thinking a possible infection on r...

Re: Stout Ideas and suggestions.

This recipe calls for 2 more oz. of coffee a week before bottling, never done it before with coffee, just hops and commando, no problem. Should I boil maybe a cup of water with the coffee first? I'm thinking I should.

I see the new board is a upgrade, it doesn't have that annoying shut off timer, just the start timer.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

I have another question…If you have a few 1/2 lbs of leftover base grains/malts like Marris Otter, 2 row, German Pilsner, etc…can you combine them together in a recipe to brew? I would say yes. I think Mash and bpgreen do a mixed batch of unknown grains and call them wonder brew, atleast you would ...

I’ve been using the LalBrew Diamond Yeast for Lagers and the Saflager 34/70 with good results.
Cheers
Have you tried the Cellar Science German dry Lager? it's a lot like 34/70 but cheaper, I used it on a Helles and liked it.
