Re: Peanut Butter Irish Stout

I recently made a 5G Peanut Butter Cup Imperial Stout recipe from Midwest Supplies. Their recipe said 2 weeks in the primary fermenter before adding the Peanut Butter and cocoa nibs, then an additional 2-4 weeks in secondary fermenter, then at least 2 weeks in the bottles. I added the PB2 and the co...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

So today I finally got around to brewing the recipe that my oldest daughter had got me for Christmas. This is a 5G of Danube Driftin' Vienna Lager, it's a 5G Extract w/steeping grains recipe from Northern Brewer. The water I used in brewing this recipe was from a local artesian well, that is always ...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Today I brewed a beer that I've always wanted to do, but didn't due for many reasons. This is a Peanut Butter Cup Stout, it's an imperial stout recipe from Midwest Supplies. The steeping grains bag on this was huge, just under 5lbs of assorted grains, along with the liquid malt and dry malt extract...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Today I Brewed 5G of Superior Christmas Ale, it's a 5G Extract w/steeping grains recipe from Midwest Supplies. The grains, ginger root, cinnamon sticks, and the malt extract made the house smell great! This is an "imperial" / high ABV strength recipe, high enough that it required 2 bags of...

I brewed 50 Gallons of Beer in 2022 and drank most of it too! 01/07/2023 I Brewed a Superior Christmas Ale, it's a 5G Extract w/steeping grains recipe from Midwest Supplies. 01/14/2023 I Brewed a Peanut Butter Cup Stout, it's a 5G Extract w/steeping grains recipe from Midwest Supplies. 02/11/2023 I ...

Re: Kits VS DIY

That's one of the reasons I buy and brew recipe kits. As it's usually cheaper for me to buy the recipes, especially when they're on sale, I occasionally will buy the ingredients for a certain recipe from a local home brewing shop and that turns out fine too.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Today I brewed a family favorite, the Bastard Stepson Root Beer from Northern Brewer/Midwest Supplies. This is a 5G Extract recipe. We like it by itself but it's even better when you pair it with some chocolate chip ice cream, creating a root beer float.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Curious: What process are you using for the flavor? Do you add to fermenter, or do you add at bottling? I'm adding it to the fermenter a day before bottling. After searching online some people said to add it at the time of bottling. Some recipes say to put it in a day or two before bottling to let ...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Today I Brewed a Simply Beer. American Wheat, I'm going to add Strawberry flavoring to this one. The Mango flavoring I added to the last Wheat Ale turned out pretty good, a mango aroma more so than a over powering flavor, although a little more flavor would probably have been good. Definitely drinka...

Yeah, I like them too. The beer almost always turns out fine and tastes like Beer! The recipes are affordable and sometimes you can catch them on sale even.
This morning I brewed a Simply Beer Brown Ale, I've brewed this before and it turned out pretty good.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

This morning I brewed another of the 5G Beer. Simply Beer recipes from Midwest Supplies. This one is an American Wheat and then day or so before bottling, I'm going to add some crystalized Mango flavoring. We'll see how that turns out.
