Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Brewed the Pliny clone today, all was good but a couple points under but am ok with that because I knew I was a touch over volume. I forsee that being a good beer. Pitched 68 and set on 67 degs. 90 min boil recipes get me sometime.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Just got the order today, that was slow for Morebeer, it came by the postman instead of Fedex. I wasn't in a hurry anyways. A lot of hops, that will be fun to brew.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

You're probably already aware of this, but just in case you forgot, if you make dog biscuits with your spent grains, Don't do it with grains that had hops in the mash, since hops can be deadly for dogs (some dogs don't have any problem with them, but I would err on the side of caution and not take ...

I have that kit coming, maybe be here tomorrow but not sure when I can brew it. Any suggestions on making it? I have 2 packs of Cellar science Cali yeast to use.

I keep looking at that one to try and one of these days when I get in the mood to have 5 gallons of a double IPA, I will try it because it looks fun to brew.

Yes. I like it and easy, APA is my favorite beer and that is a good combination.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Brewed a Sierra Nevada pale ale clone yesterday. I have done these a few times and is close to the real thing and a little less money and I like them. Also can be a fast turn-around time beer.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

I have a New Zealand Pilsner fermenting now with 34/70 yeast. I'm pressure fermenting at 65 degrees @ 10psi to suppress any esters from the yeast. This is my first time trying this, so I'll be able to (hopefully) compare this to the last time I brewed this recipe to see if it's cleaner. It's defini...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

A week ago today I brewed an American Lager 1.050. @ 57-58 degs. it was at 1.010 today, projected 1.007 so bring it up 62 deg. for a few days for a rest now, I dont think it will go down to 1.007 but might drop a couple more points. It's amazing what you can do with good temp control and good yeast ...

Re: Oh, what should I brew next?

I'm thinking maybe going with a Dunkel next after the American Lager and use the same yeast what should also be good for that. What a good starting grain bill? I have some specialty grains on hand. I like to plan ahead some and not that far away when ordering stuff.

Re: Oh, what should I brew next?

I'm burning through my yeast as temperatures in my basement change. That's pretty much how I work on it. The Lager that going to brew next week will use Cellar Science German, it's a lot like 34/70 but cheaper. I will harvest that yeast and use it on a Helles or Dunkel. My fermenting cabinet does g...
