Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

The fermenter smells normal so far but it appears to be finished. Gonna let it sit another 10 days then see if there's magic there.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

I tried 2 things for the first time today....not earth shattering but I have high hopes. Did 11 gallon batch of an IPA and did a hop mash (Chinook) then split the bath into 1 with Imperial Flagship and the other with Omega Star Party which is the Thiol version of Chico. Did some reading about thiol ...

I've not been able to use a different theme or color since the forum crashed long ago and took days to get back up.....when it did, certain options were gone.

Re: Kits VS DIY

I did kits for a long while and they were all very good and easy. Then when I started creating my own recipes, I went and ordered a shyte ton of grains and hops and now I can brew on a whim if I want because I have everything I need at my fingertips.
Much, much cheaper too.

Re: Let's spread some happiness

So easy to do and it really does make you feel good to do something nice for others. Sad it took me so long to figure that out.

Re: Are we up and running?

Be careful what you ask for.....I can be overly chatty and quite boring if you push me. Actually, I used to post every time I brewed but I brew pretty often and try not to over do it. I do check daily and if there's questions and someone needs help, I try when I can to be helpful. Just not a lot goi...

Re: The No Post Post

Our hope is that in 2-3 years when we retire, we move away from hurricane alley, get a nice place in Mississippi and get away from people (I hate people!) The wife already bought 1 horse and wants 1 more. I'll be busier than a french whore but that will hopefully keep me alive longer unless she kill...

Re: FermZilla 27 Liter Tri Conical Fermenter

I got the catalog too but am in no need of a fermenter but, for me, that's too big to fit in my keezer.
I'd like to get into pressure fermenting one day though from what I've seen and read, other than speed, the final beer is no better or worse.

Re: Random retirement brew

I've only used Verdant 3 times (like it so far) but it never went nuts for me but they were all relatively low OG beers. Notty was much more active and messy for me. But I'm not a big fan of Notty. Glad you're enjoying retirement. I'm paying attention and hoping I can make it 2 more years before I p...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

My 8 or 9 year old kegerator died and while I had planned to use a keezer going forward, until I move in 2 years, it wasn't in the cards but I got a good deal on a Komos kegerator and love it. But, I obviously didn't tighten my 3 gas lines well enough and.....well, emptied a tank. :) I'm good now an...

Re: Back for a short visit

It's good to hear from you and it looks like you know what you need to do. I wish you all the best. I know absolutely nothing about low alcohol brewing. Did a quick google search and found as a start: https://homebrewacademy.com/how-to-brew-non-alcoholic-beer/ https://escarpmentlabs.com/blogs/resour...

You go guy! Tough time to retire but I'm sure you're prepared. I've got 2 years to go and I'm done.
All the best to you going forward.
