Re: Latest brew

Good to hear your success. It really is satisfying when you can make beer that you like well enough that you don’t have to buy beer at the store.

Well done. And it only gets better as you learn and brew more.

Re: Newbie mistakes

Yup, saw the picture on the other thread. You did the right thing by putting them in the plastic container. That surely reduced your cleaning time.

Re: Gravity finishing lower than expected

That’s exactly what I’m getting at. Increase your efficiency setting a couple percentage points on your next batch and see if you finish closer to what the software says you should. Something is getting you better efficiency. Maybe it’s the crush, maybe it’s fresher yeast, maybe it’s the yeast nutri...

What beer/brewing stuff did Santa bring you?

I bought these for myself, so they are kind of Christmas presents. Kind of like the Buick commercial; To me, From me, it’s just what I wanted. Anyway, as a child, we vacationed in Wildwood, NJ. They have a huge boardwalk. There was a dime pitch game that you won glasses if your dime stayed in them. ...

Happy New Year. I’m making teriyaki wings and drinking my newly tapped Pale Ale. We’ll also have some shrimp with various cheeses, dips and crackers.
