Music City...
Reposting my call-out from the other board related to Nashville visitors. Time and schedule permitting, I'm always happy to meet up with a travelling borg member to introduce them to our rapidly growing brewing scene. We've been rated by a few publications as one of the fastest growing and best craf...

Re: Sours
Check my other thread for my pics from the Yazoo Funk Fest to get my position on sours... ;) http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5496/9512006325_1d59056d6a.jpg Had a Berlinner Weisse at Yazoo this evening, in fact. I also have several in my beer fridge and in my cellar... IMHO, Flemish Red Ale Grand Cru f...

My beer week in pictures
Well, actually a week and a half or so. To start off, I spent some time at the farm picking cascade hops that went into the brew kettle the next day at the brewery. In all, we harvested 50 cascade hop bines for a pickup truck full of fresh hops. Will be drinking this ale while harvesting the 150 bin...

Re: What's the worst commercial beer you've tasted?
There's some canned amlager that Kroger (I think) carries that was beyond awful... butterscotchy, hot, just bad. Can't remember the name though. There was also that kombucha beer from the beer fest, but I'm not going to pick that since I can't remember the name either. I used to say Sam Adams Cranbe...

I would think it would be non-alcoholic, but adding in spirits would be what gets the job done. That is my only guess. Not non-alcoholic, and no added spirits necessary. It's essentially non-carbonated fermented beer that has been condensed. They are doing the "carefully control[ed] environmen...

Re: Mr. Beer loyalty
I'm waaaaay back on page one of this thread, and probably should read further before posting, but I'll agree that if a trub valve is added to the LBC, I will probably be picking up a few. As for Mr. B's stuff... well... I had pretty much stopped buying stuff from them ages ago for AG, but then last ...

Re: Clones
Good sites, one and all. And I agree that the brewery websites are good places to mine info as well. I've even found that emailing and/or talking to the brewer will generally get you everything you need. The professional brewing community is pretty open. Linus straight up gave me recipes for most of...
