Re: Strawberry Wine.

Cool. Where do you source your berries? Long Island strawberries were excellent this year, I made a pie.

Re: Corbonation bottle help

If you like the growlers, go ahead and use them. I'm not saying one is better than the other, I just answered your question about bottling. I like the kegs even better. Quicker to fill and carb, easy to tap half a beer or two. The biggest shortcoming of kegs is that I can only keep two different bee...

Re: Corbonation bottle help

I used 12 oz bottles from craft beer. I got mine from my local beer distributor for the 5c return.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

A minimash APA and a BIAB Rye Lager brewed today.
Also had a boil over, broke my hydrometer jar, and forgot my one minute hops. It will be beer. Good thing we're having leftovers tonight, because I might mess up dinner too! :)

Re: Stirring

Re: Dandelion

The first thing I ever brewed was root beer from an old cookbook recipe. Step one: collect sassafras root.
It was good, but over carbed.

Re: Welcome New Members

Welcome aboard! You came to the right place.
If I can make one suggestion to start, it is to be patient. If I remember correctly, most hopped extract kits recommend a quick ferment of a week or two. I usually let mine ferment three weeks. Good luck, have fun, keep us posted.
