Grainfather has a MAP, so prices should be the same everywhere. They did have a Black Friday sale last year that let it drop to $799, which was the lowest I’ve ever seen it. Still too rich for my blood, but good luck with yours! I’ll be following from the side lines.

Re: Timeline
Notes say I started in 2012, so that’s must be right. I know my first couple batches were steeping with Mr. Beer kits, taken from notes from Jon on the old MBF forum. Wonder where he is now? Moved quickly to dry extract, then Biab on batch 17. I won a contest with an extract APA on batch 11, so I fi...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?
I’m working on my version of Honkers Ale, from the pre-AB days when it was delicious. First brew since November, and this 60* day feels great!

I just sent you some notes. Looks good overall, but I found a few quirks (admittedly, probably user error).

Re: Beer Floats
I do this a few times a year. Stout with vanilla is the way to go! Also, for those interested, we sell a local beer syrup on Amazon. Besides using it directly on ice cream, you can reduce 1:1 with simple syrup and make snow cones! I won’t link it here, but you can search it up. :) Sent from my iPad ...

Email sent. I might play with it in Google Sheets and see if I can get the macros to work. If not, I can use Excel.

Regarding the Amazon order, you can cancel it and rebuy it from a different seller. At least, I think you can. Also, I’d be sure to leave a seller review, just to note the slow shipping. If you contact AMZ, they’ll help you, A to Z claim or not. They always side with the customer over the seller. Se...

These guys have you covered. But I will add that when I started out, I fermented in 5G icing buckets I got free from Kroger. I still use them to hold stuff around the brewery.

Vince, this looks great! I mentioned before that I was looking for a replacement for BrewToad. Looks like I’ll be downloading this soon!

Re: Brewtoad folding
Thanks for the help, all. I haven't used qbrew since I started, but maybe it's worth a revisit. I like the ease of Screwy's too, but it looks like printing may be the only option to save. I guess I really liked the brewlog part of brewtoad, which helped me track the day, the happy Wilsons, and chang...

Brewtoad folding
For the last four years, I’ve hosted my recipes on brewtoad.com. I really liked the layout and free price. They announced this week that they are closing up shop on January 1. I am able to download xml files if my 60+ recipes there, and am saving printed PDFs as a back up to that. But now I need a n...

Man, I haven't been to the Borg in a minute! I finally got around to my Christmas ale today, weeks after originally planned. It'll be ready, though, based on past performance.

Re: Couple of questions about beer storage
My general routine is to keg, hit it with 10 psi 3 times to purge oxygen, then let it sit. Sometimes as long as 3-6 months at room temp 66-70 in my basement. Once I have room in the fridge, it'll sit at 12 psi or so for 12-24 hours before I tap it. No need to recharge it, as you say. If it's sealed,...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?
I plan to brew the first of the 3 Midwest cheap kits I picked up. Doing the Just Swished one, adding some color and rye to kick it up. Also using the Dry hop Imperial yeast for the first time.
