Re: Kwak glasses
They were pretty clean, so I just hand washed them. There's no crud, so that's good. I did read not to soak the base, though. And yes, I looked them up on eBay before purchasing. Worth a flip, but too cool to do that. I'll post a pic of my saison (my current draft) as image practice!

Kwak glasses
I was browsing the Salvation Army store yesterday and found these beauties. Picked them up for $1.50 each. A bit of a PIA to use and clean, but a fun conversation piece nonetheless. I found this fun info on them. http://drinkingmadeeasy.com/blog/kwak-a-beer-you-cant-put-down/ Anyone else seen or use...

Re: I just want to get some things straight
Resurrecting posts...new around here. Anyway, I have done the same as you, Fedora, for the past 3 years. Mash in 1 pot, mash out/sparge in another exactly as you described. I've never worried about grain/water ratios, usually reserving 2.5G for the sparge pot, the rest for the mash. The mash out ste...

I just found this and don't mind giving it a go if you still need feedback. Cool project!

Re: BIAB synopsis
I had been stirring every 15 minutes. Last two batches, I've just let it ride. As long as I mash out, I've gotten the same, or better, conversion. Then again, could be my new bag too.

Ha! Me too! I play sax. But I know some people who can pick a bit!Beer-lord wrote:This fellow BIAB brewer welcomes you. Can you teach me how to play guitar, banjo and mandolin better? I kind of suck a bit at some of those.

Another one from MBF
Hi all, Sucks to have to move, but the new place seems pretty good. It's like your favorite bar just closed down. You're sure the regulars at the new place are nice enough, but the decor is definite different. Anyway, I've been brewing for since January 2012 here in southern Indiana. Just kegged bat...
