Nice looking system Paul great to hear your first brew day was a success.
Interesting about the hops. I have a 5500 watt ULWD element in my kettle and have loose hopped since about my second brew. The element is slightly discolored, but it’s more from beer stone.

Replaced my BC with one of these. Wish I'd done this years ago.

I think that will work out great. Can’t go wrong with Fresh Squeezed! Now you have me thinking I should brew SSR.

Welcome Joe great to have you here!
I know and like Steve too (this statement is on my own accord and has not been coerced in anyway).
Edit: Hey Steve did I do that right?

If they want you to pitch that whole 11.5g pack of 05 they show in the kit it won't take long at all to ferment a 1 gallon batch.denny wrote:Could it be that other people have found that it doesn't take that much time? Keep in mind that not everyone brews the same way.

Dropping by to extend a welcome!
I’ve not brewed a NA beer myself, but this is a good read through.

Re: Hop Filter - pot too small to hang it, ok to sit on bott
From how you describe the filter to how I'm picturing it in my mind I feel it will be fine to rest on the bottom. With mesh on the sides and half inch up from the bottom it should always be surrounded by liquid. Just don't try and catch it if it starts to tip in the pot. It'll be hot.

Haha good read this morning. Looking forward to hearing how the story and beer turns out. To think I'd been calling them my "brew day from hell" and they were just a "Wilson".

I brewed Cloudy With a Chance of Hops Amarillo yesterday and pitched a healthy starter of Bootleg NEEPAH yeast.

Re: How Soon and How Warm?
You are correct. After the bulk of fermentation is over it will be fine to allow to warm up without changing the flavor profile. Just like a D rest with a lager it's the same for an ale and can help the yeast clean up.

The only scary thing about those kegs is that they are empty.
