The Grand Experiment

Post by braukasper »

K this is weird. I have 2 year old beer that is still in secondary. Tasted it kinda flavorless, a bit maltie. Instead of pouring it down the drain I am adding a gallon of organic black cherry juice and WLP655 Belgian Sour Mix 1. Wondering if I should make a starter and how large of one?

I am leaning towards making a starter. Most likely 2 liter. What are the BORG's thought on this? Has anyone one done this?

Hi Bob,

I wouldn't think you would need a starter as most everything but the Cherry Juice and some of the more difficult to ferment sugars have already been fermented out.

I have not tried your experiment but it sure looks interesting!

I think if it were me, I'ld just pitch what you have, flood the headspace with some CO2, return the airlock and wait... And watch!

...and post progress pics! :thanks:
