Blichmann BrewEasy Kettle RIMS - Manual

I have it from a reliable source that the electric version of the Blichmann BrewEasy Kettle RIMS system will finally be available in mid June of this year. I'm in the process of getting prices for the entire preassembled system in 5, 10 and 20 gallon batch sizes. I've attached a link to their most recent operating manual that lists all the parts and options, they will ship you just the parts for the DIY folks or assemble them for you.

It's going to take a lot of fast talking and ingenuity to justify the cost to my wife and myself to avoid the sticker shock. I'll post the prices here once I get them. Right now I'm trying to see if the electric model supports a 4 wire 220 volt line that I had installed already.

I would like to buy the adapter plate / ring assembly to use with my own (non-Blichmann) pots if possible...

Thanks Vince, I can't wait to see the electric version and hope the price won't be to much more than the gas. I've already soften the wife up and told her the price so I hoping time will help my cause, a year maybe and if nothing better catches my eye I'm pulling the trigger.

How does this compare to the eBIAB Russki put up in his thread? Cost, ease of use, quality of brews, etc? I'm still wanting to do his version sometime this year.

This is still a neat system, just looks expensive as heck using Blichman products. I wonder if you can buy the separate components from them and use other brand kettles?

I'd be interested in just the electric kettle for BIAB. Wonder about the coil scorching the bag though... I'm getting very close to just buying a turkey fryer. Outdoor brewing isn't an option at my apartment complex, too many kids running around.

You can buy the components separately and build it yourself or retrofit other kettles you already own. The 30 gallon system I saw is a turn key, you just unpack assemble and use it without drilling or doing anything else. The $2,600.00 price tag was for the propane version I haven't seen anything on their site about the electric version yet.

The lower kettle is used to heat the liquor and a pump is used to recirculate the wort through the upper mash tun,. The temperature sensor connects to the controller that is programmed to maintain a specific temperature that you enter. I like this design because it doesn't require lifting heavy wet grains out of 155F wort, I burned my right foot really bad once before when the handle broke on a bucket of strike water and spilled on my sneakered foot.

The design is unique to any I've seen on the internet, it's a hybrid somewhere between BIAB and batch sparging. Aside from that it does look beautiful and with the included auto sparge arm should make brewing a lot easier. The 30 gallon system will produce 20 gallons of beer but brewing smaller batches is possible too. I've had a couple of email exchanges with John Blichmann via Princeton Homebrew and I'm hoping to hear back on the availability of the electric powered system in the next week or two. His feedback so far confirmed that a 4 wire 30 amp 220 volt GFCI power source is compatible so that's a relief since I've had that installed already.

This just in from Blichmann customer service.

"We will have the electric Tower of Power temperature control module available in approximately 5 weeks. It will be a week or two after that release date for us to put together the turnkey electric BrewEasy systems."

Looking like fall time frame before they're available.
