Lagunitas Born Yesterday Pale Ale

Post by Kealia »

Image

Not to be outdone by Stone or others, this is Lagunitas' offering of a fresh hopped beer that should be imbibed as soon as possible.

It has the aroma of an IPA, drinks easy like an APA, but kicks you like an IPA at 7.5%.

They call it a Pale Ale but it likely blurs the line between APA/IPA. Honestly, when it smells and tastes this good....who cares?!?

If it's a Lag's, it's gotta be good. Wonder if they'll make their way here now that we're getting a few of their brands.
They always seem to blur the lines between APA/IPA and that's ok with me.

I have yet to try and not like anything offered by Lagunitas. I have a fondness for their Czech pilsner.

Wow, I can't believe that it's been a year since I had one of these. But it was just as good as I remember it!

Sorry no pic. You'll have to take my word for it. Again.

Me too, love the Pils. Lagunitas has some great beers. Some are a bit over the top for me but still nice line up.

This is a fantastic beer from Lagunitas. So much fruity hop aroma, and like you mentioned, easy to drink!

Almost added two of these to a mixer sixer last week...

From what I am reading, big mistake not adding them!

Will have to get back there and correct my error.

It's time to revive this old thread.

I'll just start out by saying WOW. This beer is incredible. The aroma actually hits your nose almost immediately after popping the top. It's a citrus fruit bomb. Imagine sniffing a mixture of orange, pineapple, and grapefruit juice...that's what this smells like. And the flavor is the same thing, full of fruit. The bitterness on this is the best part. It's surely bitter, almost like an IPA and not a pale ale as they call it. But it's not a harsh bitterness, it's hard for me to explain. It's a smooth bite and has a real nice lingering to it. But it's not overpowering and not overly bitter. And it pours really clear for being an unfiltered beer.

It's damn near the most perfect APA/IPA I've ever had. It's amazing, it really is!!!

I think they mash all their beers high and it helps bring out a nice body and finish. Almost somewhat sweet. Almost all their beers are of higher ABV but it's worth it.
The flavors change fast in that one so if you have a few, you'll notice changes every week or so..............but they won't last that long!

I can't believe I didn't update this thread more often. That's a great description of the beer, Duck.

I'm a little burned out on DIPAs and even NEIPAs right now and wanting to get some pales in my rotation for a while, but this one is so easy to drink that I'm going to pick up another 6er of it before it is gone for the year.
