Well I guess I also make wine again

Post by berryman »

My Dad use to make a lot of different kinds of homemade wine and I use to help him make it and drink it, not that I don't dislike wine but I like beer a lot better. But lately I've been getting some wine going. I have the time and equipment, so why not? Grape, Grape with some added fruit, and dandelion. Going to make some Strawberry, black raspberry, and Apple as when they come in. I still rather make beer but thought it is fun to have some wine going on too...

Looks good. That one for your daughter should be getting close? (My version of redneck blush)

Yes the one on the left, it's been just 2 months, I racked it the other day and pulled about a 1/2 L sample out. it tasted good and I got a 1.017 FG - do you know what yours ends up with?

Not sure - I never measured it. I have 15 gallons of this stuff fermenting in various stages. My next batch will be ready to keg on 6/1

We all thought it tasted good, I'm pretty sure it's done and I will test it again by the end of the week. The next batch is your same recipe but with added orange and lemon, it looks a lot pinker.

I'm looking forward to hearing how that batch with the fruit turns out.

I did one a couple years ago with white grape peach juice but I do not remember how it was ..... maybe time to experiment a little with a 2.5 gallon batch.
