My Chinook / Equinox IPA. Chinook @10, and a lot of Equinox @flameout/lid on hop stand. No specialty grains except for a smidgen of honey malt.

Best beer with Equinox I've made. No weird pepper or celery flavors, just tons of fruit with some piney/spicy background. Me likey.

Moral of the story? Boiling Equinox is bad. Whirlpool or > only.

Hmm, those sound pretty good. And you can't beat a free growler when you buy a pint, that's great. I'm drinking one of mine, a Session IPA from TrueBrew. The bitterness and hops smell/taste are definitely noticeable with this one. Too bad I'm the only one here who likes IPAs, oh wait, that just means more for me.

Had 2 first pours today. Both were 2.5 gallon batches. The first one was a Munton's Canadian w/ steeped grains and an oz. of Cascades. It was ok.The 2nd was a Mr. Beer Porter w/ steeped grains, EKG hops and blueberry flavoring. That was a Win. Real tasty. Going to be hard not to drink them before Summer comes.I'm trying to build up a pipeline for the hot days.I should have around 13-15 case till it's all said and done. I try not to drink any before Memorial Day weekend, other than 1st pours. I got (2) 2.5 gal. batches to bottle and (2) fermenting. Cheers. :)

KBS release day here in Nashville. It's always a good day when your friendly neighborhood beer seller breaks out a BCBS to share while they get the KBS ready to sell... and one of your fav local nanos happens by the beer store with samples (in an attempt to get his beers on tap there as he just signed with a distro)... and then you get to pop a KBS when home...Image

Yesterday Avery Brewing came to our area. Haven't had time to check the shelves yet as I've been uber busy but while I'm elated I have yet another choice for craft beer, it's hard balancing drinking my beer with great craft beer (expensive) and I'm running out of fridge room in my effort to try everything that shows up on shelves.
