Is Info and Announcements the 'catch all' posting thread? Like the Community Drain Pipe.

OK, help a brotha out please. I feel stupid and I visit many forums but how do you link a site? You know, type a word or phrase and hyperlink to it? The URL option at the top doesn't work for me.
I feel like such a newb.

when you get into the compose window at the top you will see a button called URL that will add the code that you need then adjust it as you see below to create the link.

Code: Select all

The Screwy Brewer Website
Also you can highlight a part of text then click on the URL button and it will partially set it up for you.

Still doesn't seem to work for me or I'm a complete idiot. I set it up just like you did but still only see the link.

Make sure that you put the URL address inside the first set of brackets make sure you add the equal sign before the URL. see below

Code: Select all

Name of the link goes here
ALSO I edited your post so you could see the difference between what you did and how it should look.

Click on Edit in your post so you can see it.

When I click on a link in a thread the link opens in the same window where I am logged into the :borg: . I looked and don't see an option to open link in a new window, is there one?

I don't like to be taken away once I'm logged in here to places like youtube or a link I can't idenitfy.

:thanks:

Valid solution, but not everyone knows those shortcuts. I brought this to Louie's attention a little while ago. It is on his list.

I'll usually right-click on a link and the browser will have an option to open the link in another page or tab. But yeah it'd be cool to have links open in another page/tab automatically.
