So I am power washing the deck...
I am power washing the deck and I get to thinking to myself "self I have a great idea" "Oh?" I said to myself. Then I thought "this power washer would be a great way to clean the keg I just emptied". Then I thought "self your brilliant", of course I already knew that. So when I finished with my deck I went downstairs and got that keg. I must say that power washer is the way to go. And I didn't use very much water doing it. Unfortunately it would be a bit much to drag my power washer out and set it up every time I empty a keg.
Re: So I am power washing the deck...
I have a small power washer and use it for cleaning the BBQ pit to everything else but never thought about cleaning the keg with it. I'm sure it's done by lots of folks but I also sure the average Joe doesn't have a PW. I have a super-duper bottle washer that is pretty forceful and wash it out in my washer sink before soaking in PBW.
But the outsides of my kegs are looking funky so I may try it on them.

I am thinking about trying it on my brew kettle.

*sigh* if only we had enough water to use a power washer...

A power washer actually uses very little water. After thoroughly going over the entire interior of my keg the water in the bottom wasn't more than 3 inches deep. If it was even that deep. I would use a lot less water if I set mine up and used it every time I clean my conical, keg, or kettle.

Yeah, I was trying to be a smartass there. We actually have one but I'm pretty sure somebody would call the authorities if they saw me using it right now with the conditions we have out here.

Hi,
I want to do power washing on the floor as well as fence of my house on my own. Will anyone give me some tips how to do that effectively?
Thanks

Re: So I am power washing the deck...
Last month I power washed the green mold off of the vinyl siding on one side of my house. The trick is to add detergent then wet the area and let it soak for a few minutes. Then point the nozzle downward so water doesn't get up under the siding where it could cause more mold to grow. As for cleaning the kegs, I haven't tried power washing them...yet.
