Hey All, finished off my BrewYear with a easy TripleHeader. I had 2 each B/D Sinful Swills,Stouts, and Brown Ales. Chucked 2 each into the pot at flameout and am fermenting with Muntons yeast I had laying around the fridge. These were the remains of the Sctatch and Dent purchase I made sometime back. They hopefully will turn out drinkable even if I have to mix them with soda. Hope to see you all next year, unless I get the gumption to brew again b4 X-Mas. Cheers :shots:

Kegged the Devil’s Nectar Black IPA today. The hop aroma was a little light. I’ve noticed that on a few of my last recipes. I think I remember someone saying a pH around 5.2 will help out the hop profile. My pH is usually around 5.4. Might have to lower it a bit next time and see what happens.

Brewing another batch or Wrangled Rye. Everyone likes this, most of all me! It's become a standard that I want on tap whenever practical.

Might as well please yourself!
I love rye beers. I have been working on a recipe with rye in a low OG pale ale to brew soon.

Mine is pretty straightforward. Pilsner, munich, rye malt, light crystal, C-hops. Ferment cool with notty for a clean finish.

Sunday I am one-armed brewing (with a helper) a small extract batch of the Strata (hop) Pale Ale.
This should be interesting...I've never brewed with somebody else, let alone had to explain every step to them to have them do it.
I guess I will see how strong my marriage is!

Somebody else? The boss? Once she gets past that awful hop smell, it's all downhill.
You should video this for future needs. :o

Update: wife is gone so 20-year old daughter is helping me with the short brew day.

Should be putting 3G in the fermentor soon.

Sorry your wife left you with a child. That's so cruel but at least you can teach her to brew.

I bottled the Anchor Humming like beer. It seems to be Anchor Humming like, except perhaps a bit too bitter and a bit less caramel then I would expect at this stage. I carbed it a bit lighter then I would have to try to balance that out. I would probably add a couple oz more crystal 40 and maybe mash a couple degrees higher next time, but we will see when I crack one open for real, it might mellow a little bit, who knows.

I'm sure I'll like it anyways.

What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Busy, busy day today. Ran 24 lbs of Strawberries through the juicer this morning and got some wine started. I like to let it set covered for 24 hours before adding all the water, sugar and yeast. Made the Redneck Blush again. Wiped out the M&B and figured and put in the mash water, filled the sparge water heater and ready to brew a Holiday Beer tomorrow.
Edit: I forgot, I back sweeten and bottled Dandelion wine today also.
