In my district, we only get to vote once.
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.

Re: VOTE
Just a little fun fact, My wife has to run for election every 4 years to keep her job as town clerk in a very small town, was the deputy helper for 10 years and has been the clerk for 12 years. I am her head campaign manager. Not really a hard job because nobody runs against her, because nobody wants the job. but I have to keep her working so I can stay home and make and drink beer....

Re: VOTE
Pretty cool Berry. I'm active in local politics too. But our "town" has 480,000 people. Local elections are next year.
And yeah, working election places as a cop, I saw many people who openly admitted knowing nothing about the candidates.

Re: VOTE
Agree with being informed, but once we go beyond local politics, this becomes problematic if the only sources of information used by someone is a single source of media (or social media) where people can tribalize. This goes both ways, it is by no means intended as a poke against any side of the political spectrum. But people simply can not be truly informed if they don't bother with perspectives from *everyone* and then make up their own minds, and are also open to considering other ideas, instead of letting the "tribe" as such do it for them. That is simply being a drone bee going out and pushing a button. People who are like that think they are informed, but have no actual clue in many cases.
That is about as political as I will ever get here on this forum, and again it is not targeted at any particular side of the political spectrum. People on all sides are equally guilty of this, getting on social media and sharing memes that have no context with their own tribe and blocking everyone or everything they don't automatically agree with, and always tuning into a single source of news, whatever that source may be.
It is why we are in a state of whatever the hell you can call our current state.
And I will rant no more and get back to making beer.

Re: VOTE
Ha Ha we have under 3,000 in our town, makes my job easy. I like to see everyone get out and vote and I don't care which side as long as they know why they are voting and for what....John Sand wrote:Pretty cool Berry. I'm active in local politics too. Re: VOTE
Vote Early and Vote Often! !! If you are voting, PLEASE be informed! If you don't vote you have nothing to say one way or the other about what your government is or is not doing for you! They opened at 6:30 this morning was on the way to work by 6:40, instead of looking at the drivers license and searching thru 2 books for you name and signature page they now scan the magnetic strip on state issued Drivers License or ID, sign an electronic pad and a printer spits out your receipt to hand to a volunteer and they take you to the booth. Past years same size line we were in would take 25 minutes to get thru.

Headed shortly. Vote one liar out and vote for the other liar. Then come back home, clear snow off equipment and prepare for freezer camp counseling. Good day to get bloody/muddy.... LOL
