All 50 States, Ranked by Their Beer

Post by LouieMacGoo »

It's a great time to be drinking beer in America. Not that it was ever, you know, a BAD time to be doing that necessarily, but with craft breweries multiplying like rabbits who've been drinking beer, you can literally find some serviceable (if not downright tasty) local brews in all 50 states. Which made the process of ranking the states all the more difficult, but we were up to the challenge, especially since it meant drinking and thinking about beer for weeks straight.
Check out The Thrillist article to see where your state ranks. :flag:

I'm pretty happy with Michigan being #4. It confirms what I already know. I love MI beer! :fillup

Louisiana sucks but I'm looking forward to our future. Some of the best breweries are in the rural parts of the state.

Based on their criteria, TN is underrated (I'd put TN around 20 right near IN), but I like the list.

Good to see New York is in the top 15.

I think they should have mentioned Captain Lawrence, though. It's not as big as some of the others, but it's growing, and it's darn good beer.

And the Finger Lakes/Syracuse area seems to be a great place to grow hops.

Ron, why do you even brew? I know your beers are very good but it would be a full time job for me to visit all the places you have in your backyard.
