I’m working on my version of Honkers Ale, from the pre-AB days when it was delicious. First brew since November, and this 60* day feels great!

Brewed Simply Simarello for the third time. Changed it up a bit. Numbers were all there. 2 of my favorite hops though I've had beers with non favorite hops that came out ok.
5th beer done on the new/electric system. Got it down pat now. It's too easy but I can make easy things complicated as I'm brainless!

Saturday I bottled this Blueberry Cream Ale, a 5G Extract w/steeping grains Recipe kit from Adventures in Homebrewing. It came out good, definitely a blueberry taste, I filled 48 bottles, with just a little left over. I almost forgot to add the blueberry flavoring, I usually add that the day before bottling in the morning before leaving for work, I remembered it sometime Friday afternoon so I added it when I got home.

Kegged a Irish Stout I brewed 1/19. Was thinking on bottling this but the kegging bug has got me. That’s all the room I have for now.

I bottled my Burton Pale Ale, which at least out of the fermenter was delicious and tastes like it will probably the closest thing I've ever made to Samual Smiths Pale Ale, and I didn't even use the right yeast. But it has the right mineraly/toasty/caramel vibe. So I'll probably make an identical batch in the spring/early summer with Ringwood or West Yorkshire yeast and pretty much nail it. All grain mashing with properly adjusted water made a big difference here vs. me trying it before as a partial.

Brewing a light ale for our April party. Also will be brewing a single hop IPA, so hopefully that will cover the masses... Going with a kolsch yeast and will be fermenting at low temps. Hoping to get that faux lager character...

#111: Light Ale

5lb Pale Malt (2 row)
1lb Pale malt (6 row)
2lb Wheat (Avangard)
.5lb Crystal 15

1oz Cascade (60 min)
.5oz Cascade (1 min)

K-97 yeast

Mash at 147 (60min)
Ferment at 58°
Est OG: 1.044
Est ABV: 4.63
Est IBU: 21.9
Est SRM: 3.9

Cost approx $15

EDIT: The K-97 kicked the snot out of this ferment. FG was 1.002, so I am looking at more like a 5.5ish ABV instead of the 4.6ish I was originally looking at. Whelp... there goes the "light ale" aspect of it. RDWHAHB...

Just kegged my Simply Simarello v2. Best tasting version right out of the fermenter. I hope I don't ruin it with 2.5 oz of Simcoe and Amarello in the keg. I want this to have an aroma to molest the nose.
Came out a bit higher ABV than I wanted at 6.6% (looking for right under 6) but I'm thinking the Frankenyeast I used of 3 different yeasts competed for sugar and it got down to 1.008.
Fingers crossed.

Just brewed, maiden voyage with Electric BIAB in the basement, post pictures when I can figure out how to get them out of the gallery on this newfangled phone. Did 12 gallon batch, need to tweak equipment profile in Beersmith a bit hit preboil volume and gravity, 13.5 gallons and 1.043, ended up a bit short but close enough for brewing and handgrenades, gravity supposed to be 1.052 got 1.051 but 3 qts short on fermenter volume. Will call it successful on my end! The element is 5500 watt HotRod from Brewhardware, I can move it between my 15 gallon and 25 gallon kettles and didn't need to drill massive holes in the kettles for the element.
