I bottled the black rye session IPL. If you recall, this was a no-boil batch where I used 9oz of hops steeped in the batch commando for a couple of hours with the lid on, and left in overnight in the slow-chill.

It has awesome flavor and insane aroma for a beer that wasn't dry hopped. I guess that much hops, all of which counted as an aroma addition because nothing blows off when you are @150 and have a lid on the entire time will do that. My entire basement smelled of tropical fruit.

It did turn out to be more of a dark brown rye session IPL though. I think BeerSmith doesn't calculate SRM right when it can't understand you aren't boiling off a half gallon of beer. I guess I have to lie to it and tell it my final volume is 1/2 gallon more to get SRM right when I do this.

I didn't really get any hop matter in my fermenters btw, 9oz of hops all compacted below the spigot in the mash & boil when left alone for 20 hours during the slow chill. So that was cool, I got an extra bottle of beer out of the batch because if how little trub was in the fermenters.

Oh and it was plenty bitter, actually more then I wanted, I wasn't sure if the 5% vs boil per hour rate I've been going with was going to hold up when I used this much hops, I thought maybe utilization would fall off - but it seems it did not... so I might be close to 65-70 IBU territory in a not-so big beer. I'll still like it fine though. But FYI, it seems 9oz of 13+% AA hops will do that even if you only keep them in there @150 for 2 hours then slow chill and never boil them.

Bottled 4 entries for T.R.A.S.H. XXIX in Pittsburgh this weekend that I am stewarding at, bottom fell out of one of the 4 pack carriers broke one bottle, label popped off another. Luckily it happened at home and not as I was bringing them in Saturday morning, two different beers I was able to identify and re bottle.

Have my Brown Ale, Irish Red, Kolsch and Dawg LB Pale Ale. First two should do good, first time entering Kolsch but I softened the water up this time I brewed and it is as good as any I've had from local breweries. Would love to have the Dawg LB to medal so they announce the Dawg LB winning in Pittsburgh :D

I just kegged a wine that was made 11/6/18, and has been racked. Redneck blush that brewnewb posted on here a few years ago. I made it quite a few times, cheap and a quick turn around time for a wine and everyone liked it. But Tell you what way better after around 6 months. was going to bottle, but pulled a bottle today and liked it so much I put it in a keg and so tired of bottling anyways I have a hard time bringing myself to doing it.

I brewed a Chocolate Milk Stout 5G Extract w/steeping grains recipe from CraftaBrew this morning. Brewing sure makes the house smell good.

Kegged almost 10 gallons of Drop Kick Nate. 1 keg with Imperial Flagship (Cali yeast) and 1 keg with 1335 British Ale. The Cali yeast finished 2 points higher and tastes a tad bit drier but the British yeast is somewhat fruity. I expect a wider difference in both aroma and flavors in 2 weeks.
Also, I used about 3 ounces of El Dorado hop hash in the Cali version just because.

I'm brewing a 3 gallon batch of something with a grain bill like Gumballhead, except I'm using a mixture of Calypso and Meridian hops and I subbed 1/2# of smoked wheat for some of the regular wheat (which is why I chose those hops, I think the apple/pear/fruitiness will go with the bit sweet smoky flavor).

^I fully approve of that post/beer!^

I havent brewed in a number of weeks now but am currently enjoying the fruits of my earlier labor.

I'm tied up this next weekend, too so hopefully in two weeks I can get on it again.

I bottled the 6 gallon batch of Dos Perros clone. Which is good since the original 3 gallon batch I made is all gone. Gone-diddly-on.
