Just noticed a nice feature that I have not seen on any other forum.

I read a post, and composed a reply. By the time I clicked Submit, someone else had added another reply. The forum gave me a new screen that showed me the latest reply, saying something like "since you started, someone else has added a reply - if you want, you can revise your post in light of this new reply."

Very cool feature!

:fedora: to Mr. MacGoo -- once again.

still trying to figure out how to post my ugly picture... but still, I'd rather be listed as Beer Nong, or, The Nong. Otherwise, I forget who I am. :borg:

Click on the gear wheel located top, about 3 inches from right. Click on Profile. Click on Edit Avatar. Pretty straightforward from there, but first make sure your picture is 90 pixels by 90 pixels or smaller.

Okay I just got off a post and want to know if we can put up someplace where there are the hops and grains etc. charts for some of the new folks that have not seen and therefor saved that kind of info to their own database yet.

It is kind of hard to discuss ,steeping grains, for example if they can't read up about the difference between grains and ingredients in general.

Am I right here or over reaching, not trying to copy the other site but the info was there to direct new folks to.

Just seems like telling someone to use ingredient xyz without being able to read about what it is and what it brings to the table would lend to a lot of repeat posts down the road.

Off the cuff stuff here Gents shout out what you think most of have been doing this longer than me and I learned everything from you guys.:thanks:

(please note that brewbirds will be using male oriented language until further notice. eh? um? Alb? Evily? somebody? DOH!)

Thanks for all the good work you have been doing LouieMacGoo.

Is it possible to change the name that the forum emails come from? For example when I get an email notifying me that I have a new PM the name that is displayed by gmail is just "info" which my eyes just pass over as a spam email real quick. It's not a big deal if you can't but sometimes it seems you have the option of changing that.

I agree with you. I have almost overlooked those emails too. I will need to create a new email address then plug that into the forum. So what do you think would be a good email address?

forum @beerborg.com ???

Assimilated @beerborg.com ???

Others?

Ideally it would be something that included beerborg in it.

BeerBorg_Info
BeerBorg_Admin
BeerBorg_Message

But I am not sure you need to change the email address. There should be a way to change the display name for the emails that are sent. For example "Home Brew Forums" is displayed when I receive a message from forum_mail@homebrewtalk.com.

Although after looking into it a bit more changing the outgoing email might be the easiest option or there are the steps below.

Here's one for the bottom of your list. Does this board allow for inline posting of video? Similar to the [img] tags. Perhaps [youtube] tags?
Fermenting: Bucket 1 - Fresh Squeezed IPA; Bucket 2 - Empty

Kegged: Keg 1 - Irish Red; Keg 2 - Cream Ale; Keg 3 - Amber Ale; Keg 4 - APA; Keg 5 - Empty; Keg 6 - Empty; Keg 7 - Empty

Yes and Louie put up some instructions on it the other day.
Scrool to the bottom of your reply/post screen and you will see upload attachments, choose file, open, add file, you get taken back to the text box, scroll down again and you will see the inline option.
