Duh! I'm an idiot.

Post by Beer-lord »

Placed an order from Morebeer this week and got it in. I need to wear glasses more often. I got 21- 1lb packs of flaked oats and I only ordered 2. But it appears that I typed 21 instead of 2.
$37.81 more than I needed. :) So, I'll be using some in lots of beers for a long time.
But, I did get a 2nd SSBrewtech Fermenter. Nothing wrong with the one I got but my 2nd fermenter is a Speidel and I love it but it doesn't fit well in the keezer with any other fermenter. And, it's only money.

Don't get old, fat, bald and stupid like me. Don't do that! :jumpy:

Take those falked oats, add some peanut butter, chia seeds and some mini chocolate chips and make "power balls". Google it - 10 minutes of work and a great snack when you're heading to the gym.

And yeah, I priced something a few months ago and put it in my cart, then forgot about it. When I bought something else a few weeks later I had forgotten to take it out of my cart so I was confused when it showed up.

Good thing you didn't buy 21 fermenters...

Morebeer would definitely take it back if I paid for shipping but no biggie. They're sealed in 1 lb bags and then in air tight Vittle vaults and will be used. The twin will have to take some off my hands too!

HA Ha, that would have lighten up his wallet...... and probably wouldn't be saying "And, it's only money. "

I actually DID have some this morning. It doesn't taste nearly as good as the stuff I buy at the store either. Didn't like it at all. Wonder what's different about it.

If it was just kind of bland, and if you tried to make it fast like instant or quick oats, you probably didn't cook it long enough. The big flake stuff we use for brewing is not as pre-cooked as those kinds of little processed oats. Would take a much longer cooking time to bring out the sweetness.

Anyways, you can make a lot of NEIPA.

But you can put oats in all sorts of things, oats are great in pretty much ANY kind of British beer.

I cooked them the old fashioned way. And yes, we can use these in cookies, brownies and all sort of other things. They WILL be used, no worries.

BL, what you need on that cooked oat cereal is some real maple syrup from here in the north east. That will make a bland breakfast into something special.......

I don't even know what fake maple syrup tastes like anymore, I only buy the good local stuff.

I'd love the real deal maple syrup. It costs a fortune here.
