How much have you brewed in 2020?
Since nobody started this topic yet for this year, and I made beer here it is:
Thread guidance: create one (and only one) post and continuously edit it throughout the year, adding your ongoing brewing adventures. Generally people add the date, style of beer, size of batch, and any other stats or info you would like to keep, along with a running total at the end of the thread. That's about it...

Re: How much have you brewed in 2020?
So unless I added it up wrong, I brewed 118 gallons of beer in 2019.
So far in 2020:
1/15 - 6 gallon IPL, made with just Viking Extra Pale malt + Carapils, and a wide variety of 1oz to 2oz bags of left over IPA type hops that I wanted to get rid of, 8oz of hops in total, I'm going to use the Lallemand Kolsh yeast I've got, so technically not an IPL but it will be a lot like one.
2/4 - 5 gallon straight up Oktoberfest Bier
2/13 - 3 gallon Grodziskie
2/25 - 5.5 gallon Dry Irish Stout
3/16 - 6 gallon Brown Porter (no dark roasted malts, just base malt, brown malt, 60L, and Viking dark ale malt).
3/26 - 3 gallon Special Bitter
4/1 - 3 gallon Session IPA (Amarillo & Meridian hops)
4/6 - 3 gallon Irish Red
4/13 - 3 gallon Burton on Trent style IPA
4/22 - 3 gallon Wit Bier
5/3 - 6 gallon Orange Lavender Wheat Beer. 3 gallons with T-58, 3 gallons with US-05.
5/20 - 3 gallon ESB.
6/5 - 6 gallon Dry Irish Stout w/coriander. 3 gallons with T-58, 3 gallons with US-05.
6/16 - 3 gallon ESB.
6/22 - 5.75 gallon O.A.F wheat beer - half with T-58, half with US-05.
7/8 - 6 gallon Dubbel
7/21 - 6 gallon Patersbier
8/7 - 6 gallon Belgian Pale Ale with Bergamot hops (same hops as O.A.F. wheat but half as much).
8/24 - 8 gallon experimental dilution technique Burton Pale Ale.
9/9 - 6 gallon Oktoberfest
9/26 - 6 gallon Azacca IPA
10/12 - 6 gallon Honey Rye Cream Ale
10/28 - 6 gallon Blood Red IPA
11/19 - 6 gallon Franken ESB
12/6 - 6 gallon Grodziskie
12/17 - 6 gallons of Coopers Lager from a freaking can.

Which MOD wants to make this thread a sticky again and then delete my post....only one post and rules are rules.
Edit: Mashes 2 post are good though, one tells the guidelines, the other is his stats.
Edit: TY BD for the sticky, I don't know how to delete this post.......This a good thread and encourage others to participate.

Re: How much have you brewed in 2020?
Jan 19 - Dunkles Bock (all-grain) - 3 gallons
Feb 23 - Pete's Wicked Winter homage (extract) - 1 gallon
Aug 1 - NEIPA (all-grain) - 3 gallons
Oct 8 - Bass Ale clone - 3 gallons [Batch #106]
TOTAL - 10 gallons
I normally brew about 8 batches a year, but this year is a bit different. I relocated early summer, so I quit brewing beforehand due to being too busy, and not wanting to have a partial batch in the keg when it came time to move. Then, it took a couple of months to get settled and organized and to have enough time to brew again. Probably gonna only do 4 batches this year, definitely the lowest since I started the hobby nine years ago.
I do a mix of extract and all-grain. Usually I brew "half-size" batches that go into my 3-gallon keg. Occasional 1-gallon stovetop experimental batches for recipes that I don't want to have drink several gallons of.
Christmas 2020 will be 10 years since receiving my first Mr. Beer Kit and getting started. January 5, 2011 was my first brew day -- I plan to brew a 10th anniversary batch on that date this winter!
Previous totals:
2019 - 22.5 gallons
2018 - 24 gallons
2017 - 25 gallons
2016 - 33 gallons
2015 - 36 gallons
2014 - 40 gallons
2013 - 40 gallons
2012 - 34 gallons
2011 - 19.5 gallons (start of hobby)

I'm not particularly crazy (IMO), and I don't rock-climb. It's just the name of a video game I used to like to play, back in the 80's.

Re: How much have you brewed in 2020?
I think I'm floating around 60 gallons of beer and hard cider. May do 3 more batches of beer and another gallon of apple pie shine before the new yar. Might do up a gallon of anise with a new recipe a bud just gave me... pretty dayum good!
Life is short, live it to it's fullest!

um, I didn't count the cider....but I did find some from 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. it just keeps getting better with age.

Re: How much have you brewed in 2020?
I've got some 5-6 years old, will drink someday. Have some Mead I made 15 years back, it's ok. Did not count those in my count. Guess I shouldn't count my *shine* since it's not real moonshine.Yankeedag wrote:um, I didn't count the cider....but I did find some from 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. it just keeps getting better with age.

Re: How much have you brewed in 2020?
I brewed my 393rd batch yesterday into the fermenter. It's a SMASH. 5gal.
8.5 lb 2 row
1.0 oz Simcoe 60 min
2.0 oz Simcoe 20 min
S05
===============
I've been favoring what I've settled on for my stouts, after years of trying different things:
7.5 lb 2 row
0.5 lb roasted malt
0.5 lb Special B
.5 oz Centennial or similar 60 min
1.5 oz Centennial or similar 20 min
S05
===============
These can have a half pound or so sugar added to the boil for a bit more ABV without any noticeable change in character.
