Wimpy Stout?
I brewed an Oatmeal Stout again this year, last year's was a hit. Brewing two different batches the same day, I used extract plus grains for the stout first. I also threw in some leftover Irish Red grains. The recipe is Pale Extract, Quick Oats, Victory, C80, Chocolate Malt and Black Roast. The finished beer is dark brown instead of black, and definitely tastes more chocolate than roast. I think I may have neglected to add the Black Roast. What to do now? Figure out a way to darken it and increase roastiness? Or call it a Chocolate Porter and be happy that it's good?

I would call it a Chocolate Porter and be happy that it's good. The more you try to mess with it, the more chances you'll really screw it up.

Re: Wimpy Stout?
Any suggestions for a name? I did think of Wimpy's Chocolate Porter, or George's Chocolate Porter. (All porters on Pullman cars were called "George")

Re: Wimpy Stout?
Wimpy stout name? Obviously, "I'd Gladly Pay You Tuesday..."
Re: Wimpy Stout?
Call it "substantial". Or "ample". And then drink it.

Well, whatever it is, it was a hit at our St Patrick's Day Non-Parade Party last night.
