Same Beer, 2 Fermenters, 2 Yeasts

Check this out, this was 12 hours after pitching.

Left is S-05, right is T-58. The wort is an orangish amber colored all on its own (it's 40% RedX, the rest Wheat). The fermenters are clearish.

When you say s-05 you mean us-05, right? Not s-04?

Either way that's a huge difference.

Yes, WOW also. I would like to hear why? I like to learn things. I bet they come out close to the same color when done though. interesting to see.

I'm not exactly sure "why". I know that T-58 is high floc, 05 is a good bit lower. So maybe something to do with that somehow. T-58 even though it's high floc makes a lot less trub. I don't know why that is either, I just know it is like that. That's one of the reasons T-58 is used as a bottle conditioning yeast, it leaves so little trub in bottles and doesn't really have flavor impact when used like that.

They are not as far apart today, but the 05 batch is still a god bit darker looking. The T-58 one is pretty much done with active fermentation, the 05 batch is still chugging along. We will see in a week if they look alike.
