Cleaner
Damn, I can't wait to have a larger workspace. Today while cooling my wort in the sink, I accidentally splashed a couple drops of onestep (diluted) into the wort. Did I just make sure my yeast will die when added?
Re: Cleaner
I can't believe a small amount could make any difference at all. What size batch? No rinse sanitizers should be nothing to worry about.

Oh good, I was just like "oh great, and now..."
Its a 2 gallon batch. Hopefully it will go to town, off to the Washington coast for 2 weeks then home and bottle it.
Thanks

Re: Cleaner
It will be fine, and the one step will just become stuff people sometimes add to their beer anyways. In small amounts, no biggie.
Some of us in the past (:: mumbles under his breath ::) were actually dumb enough once to forget to dump out the one-step and pour wort into a LBK with a bunch still in it. The beer turned out extra mineraly tasting, but was still beer.

Yes, when you begin brewing you make all kinds of mistakes while you learn. After a while and plenty of practice, you make bigger and better mistakes!

The good thing is that mostly you still end up with beer still. Mostly.John Sand wrote:Yes, when you begin brewing you make all kinds of mistakes while you learn. After a while and plenty of practice, you make bigger and better mistakes!

Re: Cleaner
Small suggestion, your going to leave it to it's own devices for 2 weeks, I would suggest placing the carboy into a container, large rubbermaid or such just incase it blows it's lid and comes rushing out all over. I've had it happen.Disasterdave wrote:off to the Washington coast for 2 weeks then home and bottle it.
