That sounds good and would be interested how it comes out. I have this next as soon as I get done with the fermenter that has one in it. https://www.morebeer.com/products/holid ... llons.html

Cinnamon, allspice, and ginger. That sounds tasty. Hmm, why do I want a cookie all of a sudden?

This will be the third year I have brewed this one, the second year added a touch more spice and used
05 yeast both times, this year think I will go with 04. Have it here just waiting to brew........

Yup. Blowoff added this afternoon. Super busy right now.

I think I saw something somewhere that said S-04 was a pretty active yeast. I am going to agree with that.

Not yet, but this weekend.

Noy long ago, More Beer's Kit of the Week was "Topped With Hops" (their Heady Topper "clone").

Since it was 20% off, I ordered it, along with a few other things to get the free shipping.

Then realized that I forgot to enter the code tor the 20% discount.

So I did it again (with the discount).

This thing is a beast.

12 lbs 2 row, 1 lb candi sugar, 1.25 lbs specialty malts, and 15 oz of hops.

Edited to correct typo (I accidentally wrote 29%)

I almost wish they used another ounce just to bring the total to a full pound. But this is probably more than I'd use in 2 regular batches.

I'll try to remember to post an update.

Since I forgot to enter the discount code the first time, I reordered (so the discount ended up at 10% instead of 20%). So I'll try it again in a few weeks.

As an aside, I weighed the grains as I milled them.

More beer is generally fairly generous. I don't think I've ever seen a bag with less than what they said was there. I didn't weigh the specialty grains, but the two row was supposed to be 13 lbs, and was about 3 oz over.

The recipe says the OG should be 1.073-1.078. BeerSmith predicts 1.080. Lately, I've been getting higher than BeerSmith.

This could be a big beer.

FWIW Pliney the Elder uses that much hops, but is actually only a 1.070 beer. The one you are making is actually more "balanced" LOL.

I used 12oz in a batch that I've got conditioning, it is a 1.065ish beer.

Just kegged a 5.8% pale ale I'm calling Tuck in Da Tag (long story I won't bore you with). 75% Proximity Base malt with 16% Vienna and some C30 with a small amount of spelt for body. All Comet and Strata. Smelled wonderful going in. No weed smell, just tangerine and citrus.

I bottled this. You would think as much honey malt was in this would make it whack, but it's not - it tasted nice ignoring the touch of acetaldehyde it still had, but that will go away in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to how it turns out after it carbs up and cleans up that stuff.
